My butthurtness wasn’t the point. Rather, what used to be spirited debate on FR has deteriorated into name calling and ridiculousness. I don’t post here much anymore, and I use FR as a news source rather than a place for intelligent people to have a discourse.

It was never meant to be the official rollout. This is the start of giving access to people who did the pre-order. It will be done over a 10 day period.

I signed up for the waiting list in October of 2021.

If you just signed up a couple days ago for the waiting list, there are going to be plenty ahead of you who did the pre-order months ago.

There is nothing for me to check because I’m not on a CrApple phone.

If you’re on Google they never promised a date for Google access.

On a Google search between October and January, I don't see anything that cautioned users that, although they would be able to get the app on 2/21, they wouldn't be able to use it. At best, I can find articles saying it wasn't likely to be FULLY operational for months. But we would have likely called those "hit pieces" when they came out. In my opinion, any logical reader, having seen those articles, could reasonably expect that the app would work in some capacity beyond simply being able to download it.

So, technically, they are simply releasing the app. It's not going to work at all or really do anything. But it'll be out there to become an icon on your phone.

That's either incompetent or, at best, disingenuous.

I did download the app and signed up for an account (after a few errors and difficulty getting the confirmation message). So I am rooting for its success. I hope it blows the doors off of FB and Twitter. But this is a pretty rough debut.

Very good technical review of Truth Social. No, I didn’t understand all the tech acronyms (TOS? The Operating System?). And crapple! Truth Social ain’t available on the desktop. Boo! But he said every system had start up problems, & it is number 1 on Apple apps, plus already has millions signed up. It is going to be great...as soon as I figure out how to download an Android app, when it arrives.
