At 1:57 in that video where the wife lays her head on her husband’s shoulder in a moment of remembrance. Sublime stuff for sure.

Nobody could thrill more young girls by doing hardly anything on stage like Rick Nelson.

He was bigger than Elvis before anyone knew who Elvis was. After that, he wasn’t.

LOL. Where did you work? I worked there in the mid ‘70’s, but I can’t recall if it was ‘76 or ‘77.

Nelson, like a lot of performers, though they may tire of singing/performing the same songs, need to realize those songs are what got them to where they were in life.

"He was bigger than Elvis before anyone knew who Elvis was. After that, he wasn’t."

He apparently can't comprehend that.

Apparently they didn't did from the crash injuries, but from an internal source of fire. Don't know if they ever nailed down for sure.

Report On Rick Nelson Plane Crash Centers On Cabin Heater

July 30, 1986

Snip
"Toxicology reports showed that Nelson, 45, and two members of the band had cocaine in their systems when they died. Published reports two weeks after the crash quoted NTSB investigator Rudy Kapustin as saying the agency was investigating the possibility the fire was drug-related."

His daughter, Tracy Nelson has had to put down those rumors of how he died often. For those who don’t know, urban legends had all of the deaths on the plane caused by the band freebasing cocaine which started the fire. There was no evidence ever that was the cause of the fire.

I thought Tracy Nelson’s story of living in the haunted Erroll Flynn house was pretty interesting.

Saw him live in concert a few years before he died. It was a good show.

I started as a busboy at the Steakhouse in May of 1975, then I moved over to the Ghost Town Grill when it opened in June. I left in I think 1978.

I worked in the area that made all the food. I transported food to the restaurants, most of which was centrally made. We transported the food in tall aluminum bins on a little cart and drove around behind the scenes. We actually were goofing off and dropped an entire cart full of food on the tracks as the train was coming through at one point. We got it off the tracks but I don’t know if we were out of sight as we sat there and laughed.

I saw an Interview and Ricky was talking about his friendship with Elvis. They got together whenever they were in town. They were close in age, both in the biz, peers as it were.

I saw a documentary about that DC-3 crash I think it was on YouTube.

Terrible crash terrible fire and the fire was caused by a leaky fuel line that went from the gasoline tank to the heater which burned the fuel and it was a stress fracture of that feed to the heater and it leaked out in the interior of the cabin was in flames and when they got to the wreck I notice it everybody in the cabin was piled up behind the Pilot’s cabin door trying to escape the heat in the Flames by moving forward.

The plane was a nostalgic plane I can’t remember if it was Buddy Holly’s actual DC-3 or not but they rented it for this flight because it was a special plane in the history of rock and roll, and there was some significance in using it that particular day, otherwise they would have been on their regular Charter.

I met one of his sons on an airplane in 2008.
Nice kid.

Ricky and Elvis actually gave Kent McCord his start in show biz.
