EV cars are going to do more damage to the planet than all of the ICE cars ever built times a whole bunch.
We have to mine everything everywhere to get the lithium for all the batteries, and so far we don’t have an effective program for recycling those batteries.
I love it when environmentalists get in their hackles about climate change and then get on their cell phones to tweet about it. Cell phones, by far, are the biggest pollution threat to the planet. Plastic, batteries, and heavy metals.
OR ALTERNATIVELY the government can solve the problem by passing laws - like a law that rations the distance you're allowed to travel to say 40 miles a day, and no monthly carryovers for long trips. This talk of taxing by the mile is just a prelude to that sort of tyrannical control that Democrats are having a wet dream over. Keep those serfs in their place.
Would I have bought the car without the tax credit? No, as this was primarily a financial decision.
Maintenance is rotating tires and changing wiper blades.
The battery? Not a concern. I used the “Ford Option” purchase plan that has monthly payments of less than a lease, low interest and in 3 years I can turn it back in (if I choose to do so). Removes battery concerns.
Within 3 years I won’t need to change tires or brakes (thanks to regenerative braking).
Thanks for the info
Lastly...Kalifornia can't even generate enough power today to keep the lights on with only 2% of cars being EVs. Texas had blackouts last winter with 1% of cars being EVs. What happens when 5%....20%...50% of a region's cars are EVs? You'll have to choose between driving and cooking...or heating.
Well, try the Mach e and you’ll say “wow”.
As I have repeatedly said, It’s a commuter car.
If your commute is 400 miles don’t get one.
Chinese made EMP explosion will stop this nonsense.
Complaints are coming in from the Philippines regarding mining-Nickel versus Rain Forest.
