Yeah Alec that one in a trillion ‘accident’ is the result of not following industry standards and procedures for safety. So really no accident at all.

The fact that he is an arrogant SOB might have contributed to the accident, too.
He didn’t and probably still doesn’t respect firearms and those of us who do. This kind of arrogant stupidity will make a person not take safety seriously and it will get people killed.

A blank could not do what this shot did: completely penetrate a human body and go on to wound another individual. A .45 Long Colt round, even as a target load is still a potent round.

Rules like this matter because to prove a case of negligent homicide the prosecution has to prove the defendant breached a legal standard of care in causing the victim’s death. So, the fact that this is their industry standard is helpful to prove that.

Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office say they believe a live round was loaded into the gun that killed HutchinsNothing gets past the SFCSO. Nothing.

Forget Hollyweird’s rules for a moment. He broke all gun handling safety rules taught every day by law enforcement agencies and professionals.
BTW, as a rabid anti-gunner, why is he even touching a firearm?

"Safety Bulletin #1" has 79 rules which are the minimum standard for the film industry.
The crew on the "Rust" production repeatedly violated nearly all of them.
That is gross negligence by the management, in addition to incompetence by various crew members.
Alec Baldwin, as Producer, is responsible for the death, and should be sanctioned. There is plenty of blame left for the Armorer, the Assistant Director, and several other crew members.

Baldwin always looks like he’s coming off a bender.
They should have made everyone involved pee in a cup.

(Another clueless-expert) A cartridge is not a bullet. The bullet is the projectile…. And not all bullets are “pointy.”

“The shooting was with live ammo or blanks?”
Blanks don’t through penetrate.
To: Dalberg-Acton
Yup. Many here disagree though, apparently since they are most likely not familiar with firearms and choose to push responsibility onto someone else.

The words ‘cartridge’ and ‘pointy’ are not in the article.

Baldwin recorded a video of himself encouraging the union members to strike if they felt they needed to, saying studio bosses ‘don’t give a f*** about you’, that the union shared online.Straight from the movie producer's mouth.
