Luis Badilla, the editor of Vatican news aggregator Il Sismografo, said Pope Francis’ health situation is “severe” following his recent colon operation.
In a blog post, Badilla said that journalists who are downplaying the pope’s illness are not doing him any favors.
There is a very significant detail that many “underestimate, ignore, or manipulate,” he writes, namely that “the disease that has affected Pope Francis is severe and degenerative” and “could also be chronic.”
“The Holy Father will certainly return to the Vatican to resume his path in the footsteps of Peter but he will never be the same again,” Badilla insists.
“All the rhetoric about a Jorge Mario Bergoglio ‘superman’ damages his image and charisma.”
Badilla also notes details of the pope’s recent surgical operation to treat his diverticulitis, which he says is concerning
Badilla also notes details of the pope’s recent surgical operation to treat his diverticulitis, which he says is concerning.
The Pope underwent general anesthesia and was administered powerful sedatives, Badilla notes, after which he was “subjected to laparoscopic surgery (almost a sort of scouring of the lower part of the abdominal cavity, with small, very sophisticated probes) and immediately afterwards to an ‘open’ or ‘open sky’ surgical intervention to allow hands-on work with full visibility.”
Badilla said laparoscopy encountered “insurmountable obstacles.”
He added the surgeon and his team decided “to switch to another method that allowed the removal of several centimeters of colon that are now being examined for rigorous histological controls.”
badilla insists it was counterproductive for journalists to act as if the intervention weren t a big deal

Badilla insists it was counterproductive for journalists to act as if the intervention weren’t a big deal.
“People who read, listen to, or see the news are not stupid or unable to reflect and ask questions also because millions of families have had similar experiences with their elders,” he states.
“It is good to wait with affection and serenity for what the Holy Father will want to do so that everything is the result of his decisions and of the doctors who advise him, without having to suffer pressure from the media,” he insists.
Meanwhile, the state of the pope’s health may well affect future travel plans and other events, he adds.
“It is clear that Francis is eager to go to Budapest in mid-September for the closure of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress and then on to Slovakia,” Badilla notes.
“But no one knows today whether this pilgrimage will be possible.”
ba-doom!
Eggs Benedict please!
And that’s a bad thing???
We went from Pope Benedict to Pope Benedict Arnold.
“Pope ‘Will Never Be the Same’ after Operation, Vatican Insider Reveals”
Is this code for “S/He’s had a sex change”??!
LOL. Comment of the day.
Not saying anything.
Same here. Sometimes it is prudent to keep quiet.
James 5:15-16 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Maybe he became a Catholic.
Next she is going to have suicide ruled as not a sin so that more people will accept it as inevitable.
He already is a Lutheran...at best. He needs to become a Christian.
This would mean dumping Marx and the Pachamama.
Never met the feller.
ANY surgery after 70 is risky
Don’t forget the prophecy. He is supposed to be the last Pope.

Long live Pope Benedict XVI
I own a pope mobile. Well, the secular package anyway. 2004 “Inspiration” trim.
Love those cars. Absolute tanks.
They never said to Benedict XVI, “no backsies”. So there’s that...
“Maybe he became a Catholic.”
Lord ‘a Mercy!
Seriously, it sounds like he’s not in danger, but will be somewhat incapacitated in stamina, etc.
