“What’s funny is that if you listen to the Soviet Propaganda before Barbarossa, they defended the Nazis, and said that it was “Capitalists” driving the British to fight against Hitler.
Suddenly after Hitler invades, the Soviets go to the Brits and basically said, “No hard feelings, eh, pal?”
This was also the same attitude the left in the US had, including many in FDR’s government. Once Hitler attacked the USSR, the German socialists became “right wing.”

And then there was Stalin’s treatment of Soviet POWs who returned to the USSR after the war, most went straight to the Gulag.

Yep, the Communists were more isolationist than Lindbergh until June 22.

And Stalin basically approved of Hitler eliminating the German Communist Party, since he always viewed them as a threat to Moscow’s domination of the World Communist Movement.

The movie was OK...Bob Hoskins played Khrushchev...Ed Harris played the German sniper, Major Konig...
The movie came out 20 years ago...

And invading Finland as well, they even bombed Helsinki.

Hoskins played Beria in “The Inner Circle”.
Also I highly recommned the movie “Stalin” with Robert Duvall.

If Russia had been neutralized during the war, it would’ve taken much longer for the Allies to win it, but win it we would. Imagine 1000 B-29’s over German targets...P-80 jet fighters roaming the skies... nuking Berlin, Nuremburg, and Munich.

The only reason we had the nuclear devices as early as we did is because we took German scientists from the Nazis. Without them we (London) might have been on the receiving end from Germany.

There is a German Stalingrad movie from 1993, that is good. A Russian Stalingrad movie came out a few years ago. And Thomas Kretschmann (FEIGELEIN!) was in both the German and Russian "Stalingrad" movies.Thomas Kretschmann also played a German officer in THE PIANIST...
Have you seen CROSS OF IRON? It is about Germans fighting on Eastern Front...
To: L.A.Justice
Thomas Kretschmann also played a German officer in THE PIANIST... LOL, is there a WWII movie he isn't in?

For those who can stand it, I recommend the film
Come and See, a no-holds-barred depiction of the gruesome reality of the Eastern Front, from the Russian perspective. It's available from free viewing on YouTube, with English subtitles. Warning, this film is not for the young or the the squeamish:

And it did have Rachel Weisz.Yes, indeed...I remember one scene where she was lying next to Jude Law's character...
They both got too excited with each other...Even though there were other Soviet soldiers around them sleeping...
