there was an article yesterday about the earth possessing a 27.5 million year 'pulse'. Were we in an area of the galaxy 3 pulses or around 84 million years ago that could have contributed to shift?

he crust and mantle had rotated around Earth's outer core and back again

It's the other way around. The crust rotates about the core; and it happens every 10,000 to 20,000 years. See Earth's Shifting Crust: A Key To Some Basic Problems Of Earth Science (by Charles Hapgood, forward by THE Albert Einstein).

Not sure that I buy this. The geologic record of fossils and radioactive rock dating would have had thousands of indicators already established that would have suggested this many decades ago.

It’s too recent to have been overlooked. Besides, I can’t read anything without suspecting it will somehow endorse the global warming scam, even remotely.

Obviously, the earth was drunk and needed a little time to sober up.

Let’s throw out there millions and millions and millions of years.
Add an unprovable imaginative theory.

We now have yet another attempt to disprove the Great Flood.

The researchers found that, between 86 and 79 million years ago, the crust and mantle had rotated around Earth's outer core and back again — causing the entire planet to tilt and then right itself like a roly-poly toy....

Read Charles Hapgood...he proposed this decades ago and wrote quite a few good books. He was laughed off as a kook...looks like he's right. He considered that ice ages were the result of the earths' crust doing exactly this.

Wow! And they laughed when someone asked if Guam can tip over!

Reading the article I couldn’t tell whether the writer is trying to tell us that the earth and its rotational axis tilted an extra 12 degrees or the earth remained stable, but started rotating on an axis tilted 12 degrees from its previous rotational axis.

I remember reading in SAGA magazine from around 1969, how the earth’s magnetic poles will shift and the crust of the earth will float over the core! When the magnetic field settles no telling where you will be on the earth.

Between 86 and 79 million. That is seven million years. A mighty long time!
