If you like your current Firefox, don't download version 89.0 (redesigns browser appearance and tosses out all your settings)

I saw one of the Mozilla developers talking about the changes and I recognized her from a few years back literally giving the middle finger to people complaining about the look of Firefox. It was looking like Chrome and of course those that use Firefox do not want Chrome.
I like the File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help at the top of the browser. Quick access to what I want. Now gone. I can also add my add-on icons on the Menu Bar. I will block Firefox from updating to version 89

Thunderbird email recently changed their look to a gray flat look and got rid of full color folders. The text was also so tiny as to be useless to use the email program.

Phoenity Icons 3.0b8 - Brings back colorful icons but it does not work with the coming version Thunderbird 89b4 (nightly). I have version 78.10 and will not update anymore until the person who created the add-on can fix that problem. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/ look.

Customize Firefox and Thunderbird - you can make the text bigger to your liking.

You’re welcome. I also use Blur add on - I can’t guarantee its security or whatnot but it’s a pretty decent add on that keeps my passwords, has “fake” credit card that keeps your real CC info from shopping websites (they charge your real card but the website sees the fake numbers), and even has a “fake” phone number you can use for a fee. For, like, when shopping and banks etc want to send you a text. Just use the fake numbers and they forward to your account. Same with ghost emails. Some sites I want to see requires an email, I give them a Blur throwaway email. It forwards to my regular email and if I want to I just turn it off so they don’t deliver any more.

better yet get rid of Firefox. Its ultra Woke. They even ran their founder off.....who promptly built the Brave browser. That’s what I use.

Anyone on this ping list using Brave browser for Linux Mint? My software manager does not show it as downloadable.

If you're using KDE, definitely do NOT use the 'snap' version of the install. I had issues with that.

I just downloaded this and am trying to figure out how to import my FF passwords. Seems to be much faster than FF.

I’m not sure what the TOR Tab is, though.

Mine has a classic, simpler look - tabs on bottom with "X" to delete them without viewing, lines separating square tabs from one another, a top menu bar and various shades of gray (darker for the menu bar and active tab, lighter otherwise).

Once I find out how to take a screen shot to save for showing what it currently looks like, I'll ask for help on one of their forums to restore how it looks. I understand Mozilla is still making tweeks to this new release so I may wait a while before downloading.

Reason why I don't change to another browser (including Brave)? I have only three great apps (besides Adblock Plus and NoScript) that I don't want to lose but they are important to me.

The first is "bbCodeWebex" which allows me to encode HTML (and BB code format) posts with a single keystroke, including italics, bold, underlines, images and URL's. The second is the "Group Speed Dial" which allows all my favorite sites to appear as thumbnails on a single screen to be opened with point and click. The third is "Word Count" which is very useful in assisting editing articles for FR postings to comply with the 300 or shorter word count exerpt requirement.

I have the screen set up the way I WANT IT so Firefox changing everything around and deciding what to throw out is a real PIA as many on here have said.

That’s interesting.

None of my tabs ended up at the bottom or on the side. Everything stayed intact when I updated to the latest version.

By tabs on bottom, I mean beneath the address bar, not at the bottom of the screen. That was the original design of Netscape then Firefox and you had your choice with an easy change with about:config. Now to continue to have it look that way, you have to be a programmer (which I am not) to write code for the userChrome CSS file. It all just sucks.

Firefox is and has been garbage for a long time now. Use Brave instead.

Sorry, my bad as I thought you meant the tabs were at the bottom of the page. Mine have always been at the top just below the address bar which is the way I prefer it.

So far, it is working out and pages that used to freeze before the update no longer freeze up.
