Lot of old cartoons such as Tom & Jerry DVDs are going to be banned from being sold there if they're actually consistent with this policy and hold them to the Dr. Seuss standard of what defines "offensive."
Yes this was a quick transition wasn’t it.
I’m sure that these Dr. Seuss books are being pulled from libraries too.
This is a good example of cancel culture, and, shows just how strong political correctness has become in our society.
Perhaps, sometime in the near future:
It has been deemed by the Racial Reconcilation Regime that the US news media presents blacks in an unfavorable light.
Therefore, the federal broadcasting licenses of all TV stations have been canceled.
Newspapers will no longer be allowed to buy newsprint or other paper that is an article of commerce.
Old National Geographic magazines published prior to WW2 must be surrendered to the Thought Police no later than next week.
This is such insanity. Mickey Rooney played some part that was Chinese and had slanted eyes. Will they delete that movie? Breakfast at Tiffanys
Gold digger Meghan Markle picked the right time to try to take down the the White Monarchy.
“inclusive environment”
Your dictionaries are becoming obsolete quickly.
“Gold digger Meghan Markle”
I read she’s apparently fond of jewelry too.
“At eBay, we have a strict policy against hate and discrimination...”
But the hate and discrimination must have come from the author, Dr. Seuss himself. Therefore all his works must be tainted by his inherent bigotry and racism. So they’ll need to ban them all.
And Big Tech is implementing it.
So was Dr. Suess’s original name Eric Blair? Is one of the places in “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” Room 101 in the Ministry of Love?
Good grief. These people are truly insane.
“The family was of German descent, and Geisel and his sister Marnie experienced anti-German prejudice from other children following the outbreak of World War I in 1914.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Seuss
“As World War II began, Geisel turned to political cartoons, drawing over 400 in two years as editorial cartoonist for the left-leaning New York City daily newspaper, PM.[37] Geisel’s political cartoons, later published in Dr. Seuss Goes to War, denounced Hitler and Mussolini and were highly critical of non-interventionists (”isolationists”), most notably Charles Lindbergh, who opposed US entry into the war.[38] One cartoon[39] depicted Japanese Americans being handed TNT after a “call from home”, while other cartoons deplored the racism at home against Jews and blacks that harmed the war effort.[40][41] His cartoons were strongly supportive of President Roosevelt’s handling of the war, combining the usual exhortations to ration and contribute to the war effort with frequent attacks on Congress[42] (especially the Republican Party),[43] parts of the press (such as the New York Daily News, Chicago Tribune, and Washington Times-Herald),[44] and others for criticism of Roosevelt, criticism of aid to the Soviet Union,[45][46] investigation of suspected Communists,[47] and other offences that he depicted as leading to disunity and helping the Nazis, intentionally or inadvertently.”
He actually played a Japanese guy, and I believe there's a brief video on the current Blu-rays and DVDs that explain how "wrong" it was.
It is actually a rather offensive caricature. I don't know why they decided to go with Rooney as a Japanese guy saying "Mis Go-Right-ree". It was a dated stereotype even then. But I don't lose any sleep over it.
Well the books are still up on eBay right now (for 100+ bucks).
“These people are truly insane.”
But they are now Large and In Charge, without any boundaries.
How did that lawsuit against the eBay corporate thugs turn out anyway?
Being against the Germans wasn’t being against “White Privilege”?
“Geisel was a liberal Democrat and a supporter of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal. His early political cartoons show a passionate opposition to fascism, and he urged action against it both before and after the United States entered World War II. His cartoons portrayed the fear of communism as overstated, finding greater threats in the House Un-American Activities Committee and those who threatened to cut the United States’ “life line”[46] to Stalin and the USSR, whom he once depicted as a porter carrying “our war load”.[45]”
“Geisel supported the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. On the issue of the Japanese, he is quoted as saying:
“’But right now, when the Japs are planting their hatchets in our skulls, it seems like a hell of a time for us to smile and warble: “Brothers!” It is a rather flabby battle cry. If we want to win, we’ve got to kill Japs, whether it depresses John Haynes Holmes or not. We can get palsy-walsy afterward with those that are left.’”
The pejorative “Nazi” is no longer hyperbole.
Well isn’t eBay special? They just couldn’t wait to get on the latest asinine bandwagon of cancel culture. We all read Dr. Seuss books as kids and I can’t see that it had any deleterious effects on us. This is just stupid. The book burning Nazis and commies would be proud of these little moronic robots, eager to please.
Go to ebay and search for “Black Americana”. There’s about 15k entries. Gonna go through and zap them, too, ebay?
