me too...i can hardly believe what im reading.....this has hit me a lot harder than i thought it would. God rest him...
I was hoping for a funeral like Reagan’s. The governor should have offered to have him lie in state in the rotunda of the State Capitol; it would have been interesting to see which national politicians would have shown up and which didn’t. A moving eulogy by his brother David and after whatever memorial service they had, transport him back to Cape Girardeau for internment in the Limbaugh family plot, if there is one. I pictured the route from the airport to the cemetery being lined with hundreds of thousands of his admirers, waving flags and banners declaring their love and gratitude for him and what he accomplished during his thirty-some years on the air. Perhaps fear of counter demonstrators caused them to low-key it but it seemed like such an unnecessarily after-thought of a send off for such a person of his stature and a needless disappointment for his admirers and audience.
Correct...he is.
Like losing an old friend.
I'm really worried about that too.
I'm surprised he wanted to be buried in St. Louis, and not Cape Girardeau. Or near his home in Palm Beach, Florida.
I miss him SO much. It's tough listening to his show every day now, without him there live on the air...
I can’t tune in. I have the urge to put the radio on in the car on the way to work out of habit but I know he won’t be live. It’s not the same.
He was from Cape Girardeau. MY SWAG (Scientific WILD A$$ Guess,) is the social big wig's made an offer you couldn't refuse. Does FREE Ring any bell's for you?
Just because you happen to have a couple of extra dollar's, doesn't mean you have to spend them.
Call me cheap, but if given the same offer, I'd go with free.
Repeat, I have no inside information on any if at all, offer's made to Rush's Estate & his wife Katheryn (spelling?)
His remains and grave would be better protected in cape Girardeau
Knowing Rush, Bo Snerdley, Et Al, hopefully any creepozoid desecrators will receive an electric shock, and a one-way ticket to Rio Linda!
The first time I heard Rush was his first week starting out in Sacramento. I used to listen to the Blowtorch of the West KFBK 1530 AM, even though I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. KFBK was great for traffic, weather, etc as one travels from the Bay to the snow. I was driving north on The Nimitz Freeway, and as I tuned into 1530, Rush was on. As with Billions and Billions of other red-blooded Americans, I was overjoyed that someone was finally stating what I thought every day.
Rush will always be with us, and can be heard every time we shout out the truth. Rush’s energy will echo throughout eternity.
Its still hard to believe he’s gone.
“His remains and grave would be better protected in cape Girardeau”
I am struck by how little news of this has leaked out, even today, Saturday at noon. The only news source was the one-paragraph note from the family yesterday in the Southeast Missourian. Perhaps when his public memorial service is conducted, we’ll get more details.
St Louis is not the place I would want to bury a beloved family memeber.
Grave to be desecrated in 3... 2... 1...
We can mourn but the reality is that we have to get back to the fight, and I am fearful that the mid-day three-hour replacement isn’t going to do the job. I would love to see Mark Steyn or Brian Kilmeade there but some of the other subs make me want to cancel my Rush 24/7 membership. And, shame on them! We knew a year ago that Rush needed a succession plan and here we are with NOTHING! Now what?
