Frightening list!
I knew someone who worked for a while in a Chinese-owned company. He said they only promoted other Chinese employees. So he left and got a job in an American company where he subsequently got promoted.
I’ve finished the book and after your comments about the writer, I can see why I was having trouble making some sense of the writing...must be speaking as they do where he comes from - NC? Using the word “of” instead of “have”; “they would “of” moved out”, “they would of gone hungry”, and a lot of “but for” - “but for the rain”, “but for the food”...can’t say in all the reading I do I’ve run into that before. The guy has a following so it’s strange!
Just my opinion. I will follow up with the two sequels anyway. Can’t stand not knowing how it turns out.
Received 8 new (used) books today so I’ve plenty to keep me busy for awhile. When my work is done, when my husband is fed and his needs/meds are taken care of, it’s my time to relax and read.
