In a fully mobilized civil war II each army would be at a minimum 10 million. The current standing army would be a footnote in history.

I live in Colorado. Half way between Denver and Colorado Springs. Colorado is Blue but not my area, and not much of Colorado outside of Denver.

Much of the ordnance is made at the Army Ammunition Depot in McAlester, OK.

The only tank factory is in OH. So the USA would have to build a factory before they can replace potential battle loses.
Any succession would be entirely peaceful. Neither side would care if the other left. People could freely move if they choose. It would be more like a splitting of the Roman Empire.

Adams was a respected historian, the 1901 President of the American Historical Association. He was the grandson and great grandson of the two Adams Presidents. He was a Union Army combat officer. And despite his intimate connection with the North and having fought for the Union you’ll see that he doesn’t think that secession was unConstitutional or declared to be so by appeals to law. It was an issue settled by force.
