A few years back I was in many papers from coast to coast because of a laptop I had bought from a famous celebrity. When they found out who had it their lawyer sent me a letter promising to report me to the police for having stolen it (I bought it at their "Estate Sale").

But I had a receipt.My lawyer said I'd get nowhere filing a slander or libel suit against them....but they had to pay me thousands to get it back.And what I never told them was that before I sold it back to them I had sent it to the SEC Offices in DC after one of their lawyers expressed a huge interest in it.

Of course this is a lot different...but the legal ownership issue is the same.
