I can roll around in poison Ivey and not get it unless I have a scratch or cut on me then it gets me at that spot. Used to get it as a kid but not anymore. Odd.
Not sure it directly impacts our immune system, but hospitals have been well known for the creation of super resistant bugs because of all the sterilization.
I have the basic assumption that my local grocery stores have recklessly “aerosolized” trillions and trillions of bacteria and viruses that would normally be harmlessly lying on surfaces that people rarely touch.
I also have the basic assumption that trillions and trillions of bacteria and viruses are being transferred from rarely “infected” hand baskets and shopping carts too ALL the baskets and carts since they are being “cleaned” with the same wipes and sprays and being piled on top of each other, and are often still wet with "cleaning" liquids.
Total insanity.
Poison ivy is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life’s! Well, secondary to watching Nancy Pelosi or Hillary on television.
Leaves of three let them be!
I do that also lol. I should have never posted this thread. Wasn’t trying to come off as an idiot just saying what everybody thought.

They got the cast together for a video reunion a month or two ago for a bit of humor during Covid.
Skip to 1:50 and the entire thing is about 5 minutes long. Funny stuff.
Very good.
Thank you.
Heh - I used to NOT get it as a kid or young adult.
Several years ago I got a few tiny blisters. Somebody told me that you can be immune at first but as you keep getting exposed to it your tolerance diminishes.
But obviously not in your case. I’m guessing that poison ivy theories and remedies is one of the largest topics of old wive’s tales and such.
There was a girl in elementary school, who once ate a roach—one of those huge roaches often seen on the Gulf Coast of south Texas. The mean kids were still calling her roach through junior high school.
There was also a fat boy in the sixth grade, who was often digging in his crack, under his pants. He was also rubbing around on his terrible acne, collecting the pus. So he was seen mixing the two much of the time, and then rubbing his fingers back and forth on his lips.
Like your husband, I was born with instincts which protect me from the perils of over-sterilization.
Yep. When I moved here to Kentucky on my property 9 years ago, in August I was weed eating on the edge of a field next to a forest in cutoffs and no shirt. I was doing it Seattle Style. That is you don’t worry about anything but maybe stepping on a slug. Two weeks later I was at the doctor’s office because of all the marks and bites all over my body and he said, it looks like we have a plant in bug thing going on here.
I haven’t had a problem with any kind of poisonous plants since then because you can see them my band from that point has been chiggers. I try to remember to use bug spray that every now and then I forget and right now I’m sitting here with about 50 to 75 red welts on my leg from chiggers. I’ve been doing a lot of outdoor work the last couple of weeks.
I’ve got some Permethrin coated clothing but I’m beginning to wonder if that’s actually working.
Thanks for that Monk on Covid clip! That was cute!
