I read the article just now and remember reading this same thing more or less, back in February. There was probably discussions on the Q threads about it. Also there was some outfit in the UK that pushed this high kookdom number and was later discredited.
But of coures FauXi ran with it, the jackalmaggot msm ran with it, the demsheviks ran with it.
