A GoFundMe fundraiser for Jacob Blakea 29-year-old Black man who was shot multiple times in the back by police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sundayhas raised over $1 million since its Monday launch.
The page was posted one day after Blakes encounter with police, asking originally for $250,000 to help pay for his medical bills and legal fees.
Quickly surpassing the initial goal, the pages organizer, Julia Jackson, has continued upping the goal as donations continue pouring in.
Nearly 38,000 people have donated a total of $1,038,560, with a new goal of $2 million.
A cell phone video posted to social media showed a white police officer shooting Blake in the back after a physical altercation with multiple officers.
The shooting sparked widespread outrage and protests in the city, which ended in police deploying tear gas against a number of people who were starting fires and shooting fireworks at law enforcement.
On Tuesday, Blakes father, who is also named Jacob Blake, told the Chicago Sun-Times his son has eight holes in his body and is now paralyzed from the waist down (its currently unclear whether the paralysis is permanent).

Try to murder a cop = lottery win for the family. Go figure.
The mob will always back Barabbas.
This absolutely nauseates me that a THUG CRIMINAL can raise a million dollars in a day what the hell is wrong with this country!!
Once the city settles he’ll be set for life, if he uses the money wisely. His payday will easily be in the millions.
This guy is an idiot. He’ll be broke within a year.
GoFundMe disallowed collection of funds for the Christian bakery in Oregon that was harassed by the state because they said they broke the law.
Proven prior criminal Blake fought with two officers as he was being arrested for intoxication (he had just blown over the limit). He then wrestled away a Taser and pointed it at one of the officers (dont know if he fired it - probably didnt release the safety).
As he ran to his car he was tasered with no visible response (often an indication of drug intoxication). Video images indicate Blake had a concealed gutting knife. All the while he was criminally ignoring the lawful commands of the officers, including Do not reach into the car.
Many officers have been killed by murderers who have gone to their cars to retrieve unseen weapons. When criminal Blake reached into his car against all lawful commands, he made himself a threat to the lives of the officers. At this point the officers had no choice but to neutralize the threat to their lives.
Another Rodney King in the making.
>> have donated a total of $1,038,560, with a new goal of $2 million.
Original goal for medical expenses was $250,000. Now he wants 8x as much? And that is before the multimillion dollar lawsuit?
So much for laws against criminals profiting from their crimes.
See, crime does pay..........
A fool and His Money is soon Parted
Tell GFM they have to bake the cake regardless of ideology.
If it was a justifiable shooting, then the city or the city, the cops, and all owners of the destroyey property shoukd file civil lawsuits against him.

But BLM has called for and is already responsible for dead police officers. THIS is what they want. For thugs to kill cops.
On the upside, this is more than a million dollars and counting not going into the DNC’s coffers.
Meanwhile, I can’t raise more than $150 after a kidney transplant to go back to college for nursing and to become a PA intending to specifically treat veterans.
Go figure.
According to the MSM, he was just innocently getting into his car to drive away. He dindu nuthin’ wrong.
