In the late 70's there was a war waged by US govt. officials(experts) against the traditional American breakfast(bacon & eggs).

They came up with a vaccine(statins) which have bad side effects.

Today the traditional American breakfast(bacon & eggs) is as popular as ever, especially with traditional bacon is now a fixture in dinner and lunch dishes.

Oh, yeah. First it was eggs, then it was milk then it was coffee then it was sugar. These people hate mornings I tell ya!

Farmers would eat half a slab of bacon and 3-6 fried eggs and wash it down with half a pot of coffee or whole milk before going to work in the fields. Many of them were still on the same routine well into their 70s and early 80s.

I remember that!
It’s when the basic breakfast at IHOP went from 3 eggs to 2.

bacon beats bread. Calories less than a slice of bread...and sure as hell tastes better.

Think of egg yolks as a delicious poison.

Like bacon.

Whenever I have eggs, I always fix 3 for me

And bacon? No less than 6 strips

As a kid 15 years old until I was 18 I worked for Denny’s Restaurant #3 in Long Beach, California. I cooked primarily the rotating, or “relief shift”. To this day I still love the Denny Burger, and the Pancakes, sausage, and eggs, but rarely go. I cook it all at home. I could do it in my sleep.

Yes I do remember the all out assault on eggs by the FDA, and I do remember raising my Right arm, and doing the famous hand gesture expressing my opinion of their fear mongering.

I’m assuming you’re talking about thick slice bacon. For the thin stuff, you gotta cook the whole package to get anything out of it.

Yeah. The US govt. officials (experts) ate nuts and berries and died, anyway. And they never knew the joy of a three egg Western omlet with two slices of hot buttered toast, juice, and fresh coffee. Mmmmmmm. Omlets. God created chickens for a reason.

I remember in the 70’s my late wife being very concerned with cholesterol. She was a bit of a healthy food, well not fanatic but close.

Won’t buy anything but the thick sliced

Local market has platter bacon for $3.99 this week

Strips almost as long as your forearm
