Three bills to identify and remove Confederate monuments on federal land, including a privately funded statue of Robert E. Lee in Maryland, will get a hearing from a House Natural Resources subcommittee on Tuesday.
Rep. Anthony G. Brown, D-Md., is scheduled to speak on his bill to remove the Lee statue, which sits on the Antietam National Battlefield and has been vandalized with graffiti in support of the Black Lives Matter movement twice this summer. The battlefield is in the district of Rep. David Trone, D-Md., who, along with Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., is a co-sponsor of the legislation.

What makes this especially absurd and hypocritical, is that the people who most complain about it are the same people who support the democratic party which created the confederacy.
I lay out this argument to them and they come back and say to me “That’s the old Democratic party. It is no longer like that. Now it’s the Republicans who are racist” Oh REALLY? So then I point out to them the case of Robert Byrd, KKK recruiter and Civil rights opponent who in 2010 democrats praised as a God, 32 buildings named after him, including a giant 20 foot statue of him in the Capital building. Nothing has changed with Democrats.
I find it really annoying when people make the claim that “the parties have switched”. There is no evidence for this at all. The Democrats have been hurting blacks for 150 years. They’ve never stopped. Republicans have been trying to help blacks for 150 years. They’ve never stopped.
This is like Communists attacking Nazis as “rightwingers”. No. Nazis are Socialists. Nazis are Leftists. They are Collectivists. They don’t care about individual rights and freedom. They care about group identity and government control. They are Leftists.
The Left always tries to pretend that they are something that they are not.
I’ve always said that one of the tactics of the left is to deny that the left exists.
Substance over symbolism.And when the confederate as well as founding father statues are removed , will there be one less black teenage pregnancy or one less drug dealer off the streets? That is the problem when one tries to solve a problem by attacking symbolism outside the community than the substance of the toxic values adhered to within the community that are the true cause of the failure.
I wonder if Lee’s beautiful memorial statue will be damaged by these asses at Gettysburg. I hope it’ll be protected.

We have no republic. We have true democracy ( mob rule ) run by an autocratic federal bureaucracy.
The Democrats in the 19th century were protecting the status quo and were the conservatives of their time. Do not project back today’s political realities on to the 19th century. Especially pre war 19th century.

Someone needs to hang Democrat signs on the statues she wants to remove. It also needs to be put into the congressional record which statues scheduled for removal were democrats and someone needs to add Robert Byrd, Democrat of the KKK, to the little st.
The Democrat party STILL think they own all the black people.
Just look at how they treat a black individual that votes or defends conservatives. They still invoke the fugitive slave act when one “Runs off the plantation”

These guys are typical of the rat Maryland delegation. An acquaintance of mine is running against Trone.
