A judge ruled Friday that a petition to recall Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan can move forward as there was enough evidence for one of seven allegations against her, accusing the mayor of violating her oath of office.
That allegation pertained to the police use of chemical weapons, and specifically how Durkan acted after learning police used tear gas on protesters during the pandemic.
The charge reads:
Charge B alleges that Mayor Durkan failed to institute new policies and safety measures for SPD to prohibit the use of tear gas and other chemical crowd control agents by SPD when such use would be particularly detrimental to public health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Recall Petitioners further allege that Mayor Durkan knowingly allowed SPD officers to continue to use chemical crowd control agents over many days without concern for the health and well-being of the community, constituting misfeasance, malfeasance, and violation of oath of office. Any alleged failure of Mayor Durkan to prohibit use of chemical crowd control agents by SPD based on the early conduct before she can be said to have been aware, are legally and factually insufficient. To the extent the allegations pertain to failure to step in to stop the use of chemical crowd control agents after Mayor Durkan is alleged to have become aware of and opposed to their alleged use on peaceful protesters as a means of crowd control, such allegations are legally and factually sufficient to go forward.

You can only imagine what the other hair brained charges were. She should have been thrown out immediately for not protecting citizens and businesses. Maybe a real list of charges will be filed against her. But don’t hold your breath.
Looks like the left is pursuing this.
This would be an interesting twist and end for her career. She would have run for Governor (likely winning), and been in some position to be a Senator. Now? If they hold a vote, I can’t see her winning.
A casualty of the revolution. There will be many more.
Why is a Recall Petition subject to court review? Isn’t it the Peoples’ right to recall, remove, or otherwise sanction their elected officials; for any reason, or no reason, at all? The recall election, then, is the will of the People. Why is there a court involved?
I’m sure there must be some good (or, not so good) reason. Perhaps the fine legal minds here on FR can enlighten us.
What’s the point? The useless idiots of that city will simply elect a more communist mayor and get even more of the same.
Democracy is a failed form of choosing leaders. Democracy is just another word to describe the mob.

This is perfect. Durkan didn’t give a crap about the people trapped downtown by the anarchists or the destruction of businesses. She didn’t care until the same protesters showed up at her own home. *Then* she got medieval on there asses by sending in the police with tear gas.
All that virtue signaling is fun until they burn down *your* house, isn’t it Durkan. Now, in the next tit-for-tat, the anarchists call for her head on a platter.
The mob wants to turn the entire city of Seattle into CHAZ/CHOP.

Recall is not enough. She is criminally responsible for allowing the occupiers to steal property, assault people, rape, burn, intimidate and kill.
She won’t be recalled. People of Seattle voted her into office and they love her.
The Indian bitch as her replacement would be worse.
You voted her in, deal with it....
About time. Signs need to be put up on fed freeways -
Seattle is a Gun-Recommended Zone
Same for Portland.
