The senior detention officer died July 3 from coronavirus complications at age 39, according to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office. McAdoo is survived by her mother Donna Royston.

McAdoo served at LAPD’s Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles, according to the Custody Service Division, which first disclosed her battle with COVID-19 in an

LAPD, which reported a spike in coronavirus infections in June, has confirmed at least 287 cases of COVID-19 among its employees.

Detention centers, like other facilities where people live and work in close quarters, have been hit hard by the pandemic.

In April, officials said a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy died after escorting an inmate to a hospital. In June, a correctional officer at a state prison in Norco and a plant operations worker at a state prison in Riverside County died of COVID-19.

This is also why the flu can be tragic. It kills a lot of VERY young people. Children, that is.

“...confirmed at least 287 cases of COVID-19 among its employees.”

Cases got it.

It’s no longer infections, it’s cases...

True.

And if you croak.

That’s a kind of a big deal, I guess.

Speaking of that, I am age 82, have diabetes, congestive heart failure, and prostate cancer. I just recovered from COVID19. I was in the VA Hospital ICU for one day, then six days in isolation and treatment. Never on a ventilator but on oxygen. I was discharged in 7 days, still testing positive for the virus, but definitely on the upswing (lessened symptoms and feeling somewhat better). I spent two weeks in quarantine. About a week into that my symptoms waned and shortly were gone. I have since tested negatve. I think my lungs got me through it. Never smoked. Also never a heavy drinker.

That “cases”...what a joke.
Totally asymptomatic positives(the overwhelming majority of positives), are no “cases” of anything.

Yes it does. Search for the word, “children”. The document is for 2017. The quote” In 2017, a total of 22,335 deaths occurred in children under age 1 year.

How does that compare to CV19?

Go to table 5 for a better idea, but Influenza and pneumonia are combined.

The point is that the flu attacks the young more than the old, while CV19 is the opposite, especially the very old and infirm. Take those people out of the equation, and the risk to everyone else seems extremely low. Certainly low enough that we need not shut down our culture and economy.

Really don't know. I got at least one semi-experimental drug but don't remeber its name.

The media certainly goes out of their way to NOT tell us the co-morbidities of any of these deceased Covid 19 victims, if any.

They made a massive deal early about Italy’s Covid 19 deaths, and how the vast majority had multiple co-morbidities.

Now that we are geting close to the election, and the huge number of new Covid 19 infection cases among mostly people younger than 40 years old are not resulting in a corresponding high number of fatalities, the media is REALLY going out of their way NOT to tell us what co-morbildities these people might have had.

They are making a hard pusht to highlight Covid deaths among young people while pretending not a single one of them has risk factors.

They are trying to imply that a great number of healthy, young people without risk factors are dropping like flies.

Anything to uneat Trump in November. It is so painfully obvious. The aren’t very subtle with their left-wing bias anymore. It is all out in the open. They don’t even care that we know.

I’ve read reports obesity is a major associated factor.
