Gov Abbotts Email/Vanity

Posted on 07/07/2020 7:56:11 AM PDT by Allen In Texas Hill Country

I have a pair of high end Costco hearing aids. Only wear them when I play cards, is that 4 spades or 4 aces, or go out to eat with friends.

So last Friday we go out to our usual restaurant but as we started in they said that we needed masks till we sit down to eat and drink. Back to the car and don a mask. I sat down and started to speak to one of our friends and then remembered the mask. I grab it and pull it off and quickly realize that one of my hearing aids stopped working. Reached back and its gone. Looked all around me and its nowhere to be seen.

One of my friends got up and walked about 6 feet behind me and picked it up. Of course the mask had grabbed the hearing aid and flung it 6 feet thru the air only to land on cement.

I would like to email Gov Abbott the bill for my hearing aid(s). Anybody got it????????????????

So don’t wear it. Just don’t complain about not being able to do stuff when you are not wearing it.

It’s pretty simple.

“I have asthma and can’t wear a mask. Are you familiar with the Americans with Disabilities Act?”

That shuts them up here.

I have been going into places to check on level of enforcement. For instance, around here in Phoenix, the QT convenience store has a sign, but zero enforcement. Winco, Fry’s, Albertson’s, Safeway and Food City do not enforce, but Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Smart and Final and Walmart do. The Container Store and Guitar Center enforce, several small restaurants (purposefully unnamed) do not. I have a favorite coffee place where the owner is a pro-life/2A guy, is an expert roaster, and does not tell anybody what to do. No issues there. Oh, and the local cops patronize him, too. He won’t spit in their coffee.

Allen, I feel your pain :-)

I’m in Austin, home of the militant-maskers. The other day as I stood just inside the front door of the local HEB, a masked 4’-11” 200lb. bundle of female joy rushed up to me and screamed “I HOPE YOU F*CKING DIE!!” several times before waddling off toward the salad dressing aisle.

(I think her posterior mass is more of a threat to her than my (lack of a) mask, but that’s only with THIS week’s “facts” about our pandemic.)

Since then, I fashioned a “mask” by cutting the sleeve from an old stretch tee shirt. I wear it around my neck like a bandana and pull it up over my nose as needed...a pain in the ass for sure, but the easiest fix I can think of right now.

I saw one with “This mask is as useless as my mayor” printed on it, but it was too expensive and most people already know that :-)

Good luck on Abbott’s address...maybe just leave a note at the Capitol...it’s just up the street from the painted message on Congress Ave.

Stay safe and laugh at the freak show.

No, that’s called choice.

But in Texas you don’t give a f about that. You want everyone to do what you want...or they are sheep. You’ve been in the sun too long.

No, people who don’t believe in this mask BS are not confronting and bullying the ones who show up in a mask. It’s 100% the terrified maskers who go after unmasked people.

Leave us the eff alone. If they are so terrified, they should remain at home.

That has not been the case nationally.

I have had relatives, on friggin chemo, get harassed by you guys. They would have been wearing a mask anyway. And people like you call them sheep, stupid, etc. I have had your fellow texans message me the most vile messages you can imagine.

So, I don’t care if you mask up or not.

But, when you go some place where that is the “price of entry” either put on the mask or go elsewhere.

Not everyone is a sheep. Not everyone is following blindly. Some people have REAL issues. Your ignorance and name calling doesn’t help anyone.

So, a message to your “friends”: No one is taking away your manhood. If its the rule where you are, follow it. On the worst day, I’ve worn mine all of 13 minutes.

Grow up. Deal with it.

You probably don’t like seat belts either.

It is hilarious that the Governor of MA has handled this with more of an eye to individual freedom than the Gov of Texas.

You guys think you are all cowboy and shit. All talk.

And now, when you are asked to do something for the good of the “Republic” you whine like school girls.

We should put a mask on the state. You guys amaze me in your ignorance and hardheadedness.

You want all the folks stopped by the cops to “follow the rules.” Yet, this—perhaps the simplest rule ever—you get all worked up. Its as if someone is asking you to walk around without trousers on.

I am enjoying watching you complain.

The only reason I make a pro-forma effort to mask is that Austin seems determined to kill off any small business that's survived so far by imposing a $1000 per incident fine on businesses that don't enforce mask wearing on their premises. And they want to send out an army of self-important snitches to report any violations they see.

The Stasi would be proud at how well the sheeple cooperate in their own imprisonment.

Folks, it's becoming clearer by the day that Covid is far less deadly and far more treatable than most believe, especially if all they listen to is the MSM 24/7 panic messaging. When you get it (and yes, I said when, because that's the simple math of contagion and the containment horse has long left the barn) if you even notice that or have more than mild symptoms, find yourself a doctor who doesn't worship at the altar of Fauci and the CDC and you'll be fine. It's better to be exposed in the Summer when our immune systems are at their strongest and the virus is at its weakest then to wait until the Fall/Winter when the opposite will be true.

The strategy is obvious: keep everything locked up until November 3rd. Come November 4th if Slow Joe by some hook or crook shenanigans wins, the media will promptly do a 180 and celebrate the fact that the pandemic is now officially over and all the good drones should return to work. And the sheeple will do so with a smile.

Samuel Adams said it best:

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

I “hear” you. The mask mandate is tough on the hearing impaired.

I don’t like hearing aids, but, reality is reality and I finally got some CICs that work well for me ... though sometimes I forget to take them with me.

After decades of learning how to function without truly hearing a conversation, I often don’t maintain good eye contact.

After all, how can I hear what you’re saying if I can’t see you say it, right?

I don’t read lips, but do get enough additional details to figure out the conversation in near real time.

I hadn’t realized how much I relied upon this subconscious technique until the mask mandate took it away.

And, yes, the virus is real, but I’m not sold on the science of masks.

There’s too much political manipulation of the science now for us to be able to see beyond emotion.

If there is a benefit, great! Hopefully something good will come from this.

Otherwise, the mask mandate seems like yet another freedom sacrifice I must place on the alter of other people’s fears, than a benefit to me or to society.

Emotions nag and scream: “We gotta do something!”

No one is taking away your manhood. If its the rule where you are, follow it.

Its a rule in PA to wear the mask when out in public.

It is also against the law to wear a mask {face covering} when carrying a firearm.

When I'm in a store, I always carry, so the law tells me to not wear a mask.

BTW, if FReepers have been dumping on you for being a pussy, you have earned it.

I think you should just join DU and be done with it, you will "feel" better about yourself, being with your fellow travelers.

Baaa.
