CNN — Nick Cordero, a Broadway actor who had admirers across the world rallying for his recovery, has died after a battle with COVID-19 according to his wife, Amanda Kloots.
He was 41.
"God has another angel in heaven now," Kloots posted on her official Instagram account Sunday night. "My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth."
Kloots has been regularly updating her social media accounts with news of her husband's ups and downs as he battled the virus and complications, including an amputated leg and potentially needing a double lung transplant. She said Cordero battled the disease for 95 days.
She shared on social media that Cordero spent some time on a ventilator, suffered multiple COVID-19 complications, including mini-strokes, blood clots, sepsis, and a tracheostomy. In April had to have his leg amputated. He had been on a ventilator and unconscious, and his lungs were so heavily damaged that a double lung transplant was being explored.

If you are over sixty and get this, you have a 33% chance of ending up in intensive care. A fair percentage of you will then die.
So he had no comorbidity? Or are they choosing not to report it?

I don’t recall reading of any underlying issues with his health.
It’s truly saddening.

I never heard of him or his wife. But a few months ago, his wife said he had been misdiagnosed and the doctors bungled it. Not sure what really happened.
The guy got COVID way back in late March.
I believe things have changed since.
They tested him 3 times and got a negative reading on the first 2.
Whatever happened - this is the worst case I have heard about - with an amputation involved.
For the general population the starts overwhelmingly say otherwise.
However, I do agree that the same stats merit more aggressive precautions with age starting around age 60.

No. Stop telling others what to do. Mind your own business.
I believe now that going on a vent is not the best choice....sounds like docs are letting people lanquish with low oxygen as long as they can...being on a vent has a lot of issues in and of itself...

Days later, the fitness trainer revealed that her husband was in “stable” condition, but that doctors were still confirming the cause of his health crisis. “Two negative COVID tests. Doctors are convinced though that it is COVID so they did a third test,” she wrote, adding that her husband was responding “well to the medication for COVID.”
His third test came back positive for coronavirus.

You have a slightly higher chance of dying in a car crash. Yet people get into their cars every day and blithely drive.
You can live in a bubble if you like. The rest of us will live like normal people.
