So long, sports -- nice knowin’ ya

If you’re already fed up with the repugnant race pandering from sports like NASCAR and the English Premier League, get ready for much worse. Watching the NBA or NFL will be tantamount to endorsing the loathsome ideology of BLM and Antifa. Take a knee, sports fan, or take a hike.

I’m choosing the latter. When I turned on the restart of the EPL to see all teams take the knee while wearing Black Lives Matter on their jerseys, my viewing days were over. The fake-noose abomination and subsequent race pandering of NASCAR ending that decades-long kinship.

Even watching sport shows has become unbearable, as each commentator, especially the whites, stumble over each other to prove their undying wokeness. They hate their knuckle-dragging racist audience even more than the players do.

There may be no crying in baseball, but sports sure has a lot of groveling these days.

The politicization and racial proselytism now mandated by athletes is a desecration of the games and their traditions. And what gives these million-dollar babies the right to demand sports submit to their race mongering?

Goodbye MFL, goodbye NOOSECAR. America hating antifa and BLM have not invaded my mountain climbing rope team yet. When that happens it will be time to cut the rope.

I’ve always felt that the NFL and NBA were as corrupt and without morals as they come. But when NASCAR bent over and assumed the Obama position and said “do me”, I guess realized that pretty much all pro sports have been sunk by depravity.

Oh well, I never went to any of that stuff - so meh.

Yet another tradition destroyed by the continuous creep of Progressive thought.
And now, those sports can be fully supported by those same people.

The so called black national anthem is a church hymn called “Lift Every Voice and Sing” And there is nothing wrong with the pursuit of healing from racial divides in this country.

Black History is not just “American” History, but *Christian*!History. Any genuine respect for African-American heritage, and for every move of God and the church in their struggle for freedom — must recognize the central role the Gospel of Jesus Christ has had in shaping the people and in turn, shaping this nation.

Let’s hope this perspective is not lost on the cultural Marxists of today.

When the Denver Donkeys took a knee I changed the channel. They were dead to me.

The only sport I follow any more is the NHL and when they start getting goofy I will have to abandon that as well.

Those with sports packages in their TV plans, should also ask to have them removed from their plans. The TV providers have to pay to have those sports broadcast, but if they lose the income from their plan offers, so will the sports leagues.

I, too, am done with any sport that caters to these malcontents hell bent on destroying this nation. No, nothing. No games, no highlights, no fantasy football, no apparel, no replays of old games. Nada. Not one second of my effort will be spent in any way that would put a single cent into the NFL coffers. I have absolutely nothing but disdain for the NFL at this point. We have permanent irreconcilable differences.

I quit caring about sports in the mid to late 80s.

In the early 00’s that changed to abject hatred due to some pet projects of the sports wackos in management back in public TV land.

The jerk PHB tech manager of mine insisted we watch ballgames on weekends to learn how to do playbacks for the joke high school and no level college sports program he and his pals pushed. They’d hire their pals for good money, us staffers get the peanuts, screwed out of comp time (except for one person), and put up with the long hours and travel.

I told him I wasn’t going to waste good cable on that. He didn’t like it. There was a lot of discontent but I was a competent one so I was tolerated. I learned how to use the bureaucracy and their own scheduling software to resist sports for a few years.

That was over a decade ago.

Several months ago, I found out the same jerk PHB was on disability due to severe Chron’s disease.

Just play your own sports, like touch football. If they allow it, or if not. Yesterday I was in a doubles tennis game, even though only singles is allowed.

I am afraid that the Marxists do not care a bit about black history or Christian history. They want to tear all of that down too.

“The Premier League, often referred to as the English Premier League or the EPL outside England, is the top level of the English football league system.”

2 Jul: Spiked Online UK: The great BLM backslide
Footballers and politicians have finally realised that Black Lives Matter isn’t just about racism.
by Paddy Hannam
Football is leading the reverse ferret. Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Patrice Evra have stopped wearing BLM badges when appearing on the platform...
Former player Matt Le Tissier said Sky had previously asked him to wear a BLM badge on air – but the network said it was for individuals to decide.

The Premier League has also felt the need to make the clarification that it does not ‘endorse any political organisation or movement’. This comes after it very publicly backed BLM – players’ names on the back of matchday shirts in recent weeks have been replaced with ‘Black Lives Matter’...

Elsewhere, Labour leader Keir Starmer has backtracked on BLM. Despite being a prominent knee-taker, he has now described any desire to ‘defund the police’ – a major policy goal of the BLM movement – as ‘nonsense’.
Starmer was then met with consternation from the UK wing of BLM, which called him a ‘cop in an expensive suit’, in a reference to his past job as director of public prosecutions.

Piers Morgan backed up Starmer, saying he supported the BLM protests but not some of the things the ‘organisation’ seeks to achieve. He described these as ‘different things’. But this statement contrasts with Morgan’s earlier statement that critics of BLM should simply ‘educate’ themselves...

McDonald’s previously changed its Twitter name to ‘Amplifying Black Voices’, but has now reverted back to its more famous moniker. Black voices are loud enough now, it seems...

Even the BBC is now telling its presenters and staff not to wear any pro-BLM symbols on air. Only last week the BBC was pledging to spend £100million on diverse programming in response to the movement. When Britain’s wokest broadcaster gets cold feet, you know something is up...

In fact, it is remarkable it took as long as it did for people to realise what they were signing up for when they backed Black Lives Matter. BLM is not a simple campaign for racial justice. It is a movement pushing a highly politicised view of society’s past, present and future...

In truth, though, the real nature of the movement was clear from early on, to anyone with the time or inclination to do a little research...

2 Jul: Youtube: Nigel Farage vindicated as U-turn continues: BBC Says ‘no BLM badges’ after platforming their agenda
“The BBC cannot be seen to support any kind of cause over another, and Black Lives Matter is certainly a campaign,” a BBC source told The Telegraph...
“Our presenters and guests can discuss Black Lives Matter, and we’ve reported on it in depth. We’re not impartial about racism.
“But wearing badges on screen — just as with any other campaign — would be a step too far.”

While the source claimed that the BBC always deemed BLM a political movement — and support of which would be against their charter to remain apolitical — that has not prevented the broadcaster from giving a platform for the movement’s message that Britain is fundamentally racist.
Such narratives elevated by the BBC was that the British countryside is seen as a “white environment” by minorities. The broadcaster was also accused of bias when it described BLM riots in London that resulted in the injuries of 27 police officers as “largely peaceful”
Last month, the BBC said that in response to the death of black American George Flloyd in Minneapolis, it would be using public money to make its content more “inclusive” and “diverse”.

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage criticised the BBC, as well as other broadcasters including Sky News, for portraying Britain as a “cesspit of bigots and racists” and in its reporting of the death of Mr Floyd “also inferring that Britain is a hotbed of racism”.
“…these broadcasters have been utterly dishonest,” Mr Farage wrote. He added: “Instead of examining what Black Lives Matter truly wants, including its aim to ‘defund’ the police, the mainstream media has presented its coverage as though Britain is a seething cesspit of racists and bigots.”

Hertfordshire Police has also appeared to backtrack on its support for its officers taking the knee while in uniform, saying on Thursday it was not always “appropriate”. While Northumberland County Council removed its social media post supporting BLM, saying now that the group had “definitely strayed into the political arena”...

While all these bodies have only recently been insinuating that BLM has been “hijacked” by far-left anarchists, the movement has been clear for years in its endeavours to tear down law and order and destroy capitalism. The American co-founder of Black Lives Matter Patrisse Cullors has been calling to “defund” alleged racist police departments since 2016.

Neither are its far-left extremist roots a recent revelation, either, with Breitbart News reporting in 2015 that Cullors was mentored by Eric Mann, a communist-supporting former domestic terrorist who worked with Bill Ayers, the former head of the radical militant left-wing Weather Underground.

Mr Farage has also been warning Britain for weeks about the dangers of the Marxist group and told the United States that BLM wants to destroy Western civilisation.
The establishment media attacked Nigel Farage for his warning on Good Morning Britain about BLM on June 9th, with speculation that the row, and other remarks questioning the motives of BLM, prompted the politician to lose his radio slot on LBC. The politician suggested it was the result of a coordinated campaign by far-leftists.

In reaction to the BBC and other bodies distancing themselves from Black Lives Matter, Mr Farage retweeted the Good Morning Britain footage, saying: “Now many others have woken up, this feels like a good time to share this video again.”

Won’t be hard to not watch any of the games on TV or in person as I never did anyway. As far as NASCAR, I had only a little interest in that & most of that was in times past with men that no longer race. I know there are/were a lot of sports fans out there, but it will mean one possibility to me....I will be one day closer to giving up on TV programming entirely & the excessive charges associated with it.
