“Stay away from wild animals weighing between 500-1000lbs.”
My rule of thumb is: if I can’t get my hands around its neck to choke it to death, I’m not trying to pet it.

And this is why city folks should stay in their county and not venture out.

My local had a special on ground Bison meat aka Bison burger so I bought some. This is as close as I need to get to them. I will photograph these beasts from my car.
I got 30 ft from an elk in Maine. 1992 or so. It was 9-12ft tall. They are freakin huge. You kill that and a village has enough meat for a week.

Don't get in front of the Bison Lives Matter rioters. It is hard to tell which one is which when they are wearing hoodies and masks.

Wonder if she got the picture. Personally, 25 yards isn't adequate social distancing from a bison.

We were at Yellowstone the last weekend of the year, Halloween. I stopped my SUV as a herd of buff wandered across the road, and looked over at my ex. Outside her window was a huge eyeball surrounded with brown wool. The animal was freaking HUGE. She wanted to roll down the window and pet it.
In retrospect, I should have let her. It would have been cheaper...

He now raises white tailed deer. And has them butchered on the spot.I assume thats because the trailer was wasted.

I guess the guy had bought a brand new cattle trailer to tow behind his pick up so to get them to the butcher. Even tame cows occasionally kick their way out of the trailer on the way to the butcher. Some of them have an uncanny sense of doom when they sense something is out of the ordinary.

And for her next photo shoot she get one of the kitty coming out of the woods.

Californian - the odds are good.
You’ve got to be somewhat mentally ill to approach a bison like it’s a house pet.
Thus raising the odds she’s a Dim.

I blame the Disneyfication of America along with liberal inability to recognize reality. There are so many morons who think animals are just like people because they watched too much Disney crap.
*************
Liberals have a way of completely ignoring thoughts of any consequences of anything they do. They are largely an impulsive lot.

I've seen this kind of suicidal stupid behavior at several western national parks. Here are very large, completely wild animals in their own habitat, and stupid ignorant tourists are coming right up to them, ignorant of their social gesturing and warning. The animals are reacting to what they perceive as a threat. I clearly remember standing at the edge of a very large herd of elk in Rocky Mountain National Park (one of my favorite places). Gradually, the elk pretty much surrounded me as I stood quietly. I kept backing away, they kept trying to surround me. I was about 30' away from the herd bull, a magnificent fellow with a huge rack of antlers. He knew I was there, I knew he knew, and we were at peace with one another. I stood there for a long time, studying their behavior and learning some things I'd never read in books, photographing them, and simply enjoying the heck out of myself. The elk acted as though I wasn't even there. I should add, however, that I majored in zoology and specialized in animal behavior. I can "read' animals and have considerable rapport with them. Along came some ignorant tourists, the kind who give tourists a bad name. They wanted to walk right up to the elk. I held up my hand and told them that if they approached closer, that herd bull was perfectly capable of running those magnificent antlers right through them, so stay back. A deep masculine voice said, from behind me, "Ma'am. Thank you. You may have saved some lives today." I looked toward the source of the voice, and one of those towering tree-like park rangers was grinning right behind me.
In another park, my expert hiker friend Laura and I noticed several people crowding around a thicket of bushes in an area without trees. We went closer to investigate and I determined that a black bear was feeding on berries in the thicket--and the people were only a few yards away. I warned them how fast bears can run, and that there were no trees to retreat to, and to give him a whole lot more space.
Oy.
