Eleven people were shot in less than 12 hours across New York City as of early Sunday morning, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
The victims were wounded during eight shootings in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Manhattan between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and about 5 a.m. Sunday, sources said.

I think you might be on to something. With fewer street patrols, less reports will be taken. And so the statistics will improve.
(I am, of course, being satirical here. But the way things are going, NYC might do just that.)
Yes, we are supposed to care. Innocent people get killed when thugs start shooting. First responders have to deal with this and need our prayers.

And closed down both 911 and the general telephone service to police stations. If folks want a policeman, let them walk to the nearest station and request assistance, or take a taxi. Those actions will reduce the number of calls for the police, thus reducing crime.

I can’t believe the citizens of NYC haven’t stormed the mayors office and shut it down until de Blowsthehole resigns....voter apathy? Same for the rest of the states who incompetent mayors and governors have ran the cities and even the states into the ground.
