I’ve seen positions where the selection was fair and others where you knew someone was already chosen. Bad enough.

There was a position that folks in my office were trying to create, based on the fact that all other bases have a similar position whereas we do not. The folks trying to create the position wanted me to fill it based on my experience. Top boss, however, didn't want to take an open slot and use it for that position because he wants to fill it with someone else for what would amount to a BS position being created for no absolute reason.

So, once again, I get screwed because of nepotism, just like at another office I worked at prior to this one where I got passed over 10 times for others who were more "connected." So this topic hits a little close to home.
