I've previously posted on this topic; my dad was NYPD for 23 years (retired in '89) and I have two nephews who are presently NYPD. One was involved with the riots at Herald Square earlier this month and made three arrests. He was also at the Barkley Center the first night of the protest and Union Square during the riots. Here's the latest directly from his mouth:
1- A member of his precinct (the 42nd)was followed home by a group of thugs as his shift ended. The thugs were making gang signs (the belief was to bring in other gang members) and talking crap. One thug pulled a gun and fired two shots at the officer, who pulled his gun and fired three shots back at the thugs. Everyone who was in the precinct is being interviewed- no media coverage.
2- The Captains are telling police officers don't do anything or get involved. The priority is everyone get back home to their family safely after each shift.
3- The constant illegal fireworks is throwing the normal citizens over the edge. They are begging it stops.
4- Thugs are throwing fireworks at ordinary citizens for "fun". Evidently M80's are being tossed at and on homeless people.
5- At least 700 cops who were at retirement age have turned in their papers. My nephew also told me several officers he graduated the academy with (he's on the job six months) have resigned.

I know for a fact that our suburban PD will not render mutual aid to the City of Atlanta because of Fulton County DA Paul Howard, and that’s the same for all the suburban counties/municipalities. And the Blue Flu among Atlanta PD cops appears real and extensive.

6- Another interesting factoid my nephew just told me. His precinct (42) is in the Hunts Point area. He said every night during the protests there would be 2 to 3 people killed in the precinct area (its a big gang area). He said EVERY death was counted as “COVID-19”. Shot in the head?? Covid-19. Hit by a car? Covid-19.
The think lack of cops will pave the way - and it will...for those who are sick and tired of watching the wanton violence and destruction and takeover of their communities.
This will embolden the thugs. Average citizens will not be protected from attacks and they will begin to arm themselves. The result will be ghetto rats being shot, any one remember Death Wish, and all hell will break loose, the victims will become the hunters. 1. Test police response time and TTPs; fireworks difficult to distinguish from shots fired
2. Cause complacency from LE and citizens to sounds
3. Use fireworks in areas they (ANTIFA/BLM) are planning armed operations in future
4. Use fireworks to mask armed operations (probably July 4th or soon thereafter)
5. Commercial fireworks can be used for direct effects for disabling response and providing concealment

With the advancement of technology, police officers are now more confident in dealing with sounds that feel like gunshots. They use a shot spotter, which is a machine working on the principles of acoustics and separates all sounds, to let the listener know the exact source of a sound. This allows a police officer to know easily if the sound is that of a gunshot and not fireworks and vice versa. This means a lot of effort and time that is wasted in reaching the spot of sound can now be saved by using a shot spotter.
With the mayor’s wife running the show, don’t expect things to get better anytime soon.
I sincerely feel for NYPD officers. They are really in between a rock and hard place. One side of me wants to see law and order and for the police to do their jobs. Another side of me wants the people of these Rat cities experience the results of their politics. It is a lesson best learned first hand so it sticks for a long time. A third side of me knows that the longer chaos reigns in these cities the more difficult it will be to reestablish law and order. (By the way, I have many sides. I am dodecahedron today. I won’t go on about my other 9 sides.)

The gangs learned this from Antifa. Standard Antifa practice is, if any right wingers or counterprotesters show up at their rallies, they follow them back to their vehicles after the rally is over and get photos of their license plates. Then they have some Antifa-friendly leftie in a DMV or courthouse somewhere run the plates for them, and they can dox anyone who is against them.
Of course, now the rules have changed and doxxing is probably not the only thing they are thinking of doing with that info.
