That Irish Mail Car is awesome! Its just what I was looking for. But the link to the manufacturer is all in Chinese. No matter. Its something for me to investigate.
Thanks
As a child one of the riding toys inthe yard was an Irish mail. Years later radio flyer made a wood one the children had
When Daddy was approaching 90, he got one of those electric scooters. They were pretty expensive but his insurance covered it. He could get around the house fairly well but couldn’t walk the nature trail on his property.
Whenever I was there we would make the trail together. It was a neat machine.
What is that thing in post #21? It looks like something worth investigating.
I like those. I have a bum foot after falling on it almost two years ago. Doctor’s in Tennessee are too stupid to figure out how to fix it I guess. I rode a mountain bike 75 to 100 miles a week before I fell and can’t pedal anymore. I used to walk several miles a week too and now can barely go to the mailbox and back. I’m getting sick of watching tv and something like that could allow me to get out and exercise. The big hand powered trikes are heavy.
Love it that you found Freeper help. A dependable crowd.
That Champiot is awesome. Thank you. Now Ive just got to find someone who sells it. I did a quick Google search, and got some leads. Thanks again.
Perhaps a recumbent bike like the type seen at Wounded Warriors evens. Veterans who have lost lower limbs seem to ride comfortably using hand-crank propulsion. Probably expensive though.

Thanks for the suggestion. Ive looked at recumbent bikes, but they all are too big for me to transport. My fault for not buying a Ford Ranger when I had the money. :)
or this?
Stuff is out there, just called different than you think....special needs bicycle not scooter brought these up, many more, two wheel bikes, nearly horizontal recumbents, and so forth...prices don't look too bad for many.
Good luck
Kurt Angle might know Haha just teasing

Thanks for that info. Instead of rioting tomorrow, Ill stay home, tweak my search parameters, and try again!
Just want to chime in here and say this is the kindness of capitalism.
Does anyone think socialism would have wasted resources on these kinds of machines or even had the imagination to think of them?
There are plans available to make an Irish mail cart propulsion type out of wooden components if that might be a possibilty for you. My dad said in post-war Germany they were not uncommon, what with the huge number of war invalids.
True...Happens only in cultures that believe people are fundamentally good....oddly enough Christian cultures seem to predominate that ethos. (as for socialism see my 37
“Hand bike” and “hand crank bike” should help a lot; prices aren’t awful, but they ain’t cheap neither. Assuming that your community’s senior center is still closed like everyone else’s, it’s hard to get to local resources of groups who make the modifications locally. And an awful lot of bike shops just bit the dust.
But, if you call around to some local welders, or biking groups, they may be able to hook you up with someone locally who can make the conversion.
See post 2. What do you mean hand powered scooter..I’m trying to picture what you mean.
