There is no recovery from this anomosity. Clausewitz was right with his trinity as a function of warfare.

https://www.clausewitz.com/readings/Bassford/Trinity/TrinityTeachingNote.htm

From the text: “This set of elements is usually labeled “emotion/chance/reason”; sometimes “violence/chance & probability/rational calculation”; or, even more abstractly, “irrationality/nonrationality/rationality.”

I like Clauswitz, but I found it much easier to view dynamics through biblical principles and spiritual laws. An illiterate, vain society will always tend towards wanton sin and destruction. It always has.

The Founding Fathers could not have anticipated a total rejection of the Bible, and George Washington rightly stated that a moral and religious society is an imperative in order to govern itself.

When man becomes God (Vietnam, WWII Japan) it always leads to cruelty and human suffering).

The more serious stage of this affair is when the voices of reason are silenced. Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, etc. And I am not talking about merely deplatforming. Absent a dramatic shift towards punishment of the malefactors, murder is coming. It always has.
