Baltimore election officials neared the end of the ballot-counting process Tuesday, one week after a mayoral primary that was the most significant race in Maryland’s first statewide attempt at a vote-by-mail election.
The counting has slowed, however. Election staff worked to manually copy the remaining ballots to correct an error that prevented them from being scanned.
Crews entered the day with 2,000 to 3,000 ballots left to count, and had completed 1,870 by 4 p.m. On previous days, up to 2,500 ballots were scanned per hour.
As the work slowed, so did the continuous clatter inside the city election board’s warehouse in West Baltimore. Gone were the sounds of scanners continuously whirring, envelope-opening machines screaming, and the massive fans working to cool the space. In their place was the hum of employees reading the names of candidates to one another as ballots were painstakingly duplicated.
There were not as many ballots to copy, however, as initially reported by Baltimore Election Director Armstead Jones.

I think I found a box of ballots in my trunk but I won’t be sure until I see the results.
In the presidential election, the electoral college is supposed to vote on a date in mid-December, if I recall correctly. Which means that each state should have certified the election returns before that date.
I see your point about long drawn out vote counts, but I suspect if that were to happen in the presidential election in enough states, it would be done to deny Trump the victory in the electoral vote.

Counting votes after the election is a crucial part of the rat strategy. They will know exactly how many they have to harvest. They have brought suit in 16 states to challenge laws the forbid it.

Gee, no chance for fraud with the ballots being “manually re-marked”, er, I mean “copied”. If massive election fraud wasn’t a serious problem I’d have to laugh.
Yeah....I know.
The SCOTUS resolved that issue in Gore v Bush when owl Gore tried to steal an election.
