1974: 10-cent beer on a warm night in Cleveland? Hey, what could go wrong?

Early in the Rangers-Indians game at dumpy Municipal Stadium, inebriated young fans among the crowd of 25,000 ran onto the field during "Beer Night," some wielding knives and chairs, according to an Associated Press report. Firecrackers were occasionally heard — some were even thrown into the Rangers dugout. Then a naked guy ran onto the field in the sixth inning.

When Ray Kroc owned the Padres fans could bring whatever they wanted to bring as long as it was in a plastic bottle. A one gallon jug of vodka in a plastic bottle was OK. Sometimes things got a little crazy in the cheap seats when the Dodgers were in town.

Lots of crazy stuff occurred in baseball during the 70s.

I remember "Seat Cusion Night" at Boston's Fenway Park back in the day. Fenway's seats are notoriously uncomfortable so the Red Sox management decided to give away foam filled plastic seat cushions to anyone who wanted them.

Bad move. By the 3rd inning all the fans were using them by banging them with their hands making a HUGE raucous thunder. I was listening to the game on radio and nothing else could be heard over that din. Last seat cushion night at Fenway...ever.

3 games in the 70’s canceled by riots.

- Last home game of the Washington Senators before moving to Texas in 1971 (fans rushed the field and began tearing-up souvenirs before game ended)

- Ten Cent Beer Night

- Disco Demolition Night in Chicago in 1979

Trivia Fact: Outfielder Rusty Torres was in the lineup for all three games.

Maybe if pro baseball brought back $.10 beer night I’d stop falling asleep during the games. Also, +100 on those naked women in Vancouver in this thread. I like hockey, but I like naked women more.
