Concur - They needed another black victim, and they would have used this death if she had been the race they wanted to publicize. We cannot say she died peacefully; clearly, we can only hope she is at peace now.

My guess is she’s black. A white guy dead in a black neighborhood isn’t news. A white woman dead in a black neighborhood is front page news. That’s just the way the media rolls. Remember that Columbia student who made front page news when she was shivved? Would have been a one-liner in the crime blotter if the vic had been a black guy or girl or a white guy.

I was born in Detroit. My mother used to tell me the same kind of stories about downtown Detroit and how it was a theater goers paradise and how much fun it was. That was late thirties through early 50s.
