When some starlet lies about her kid being on the rowing team and unfairly gets her kid into college, Fedzilla swings into action like Iron Man.

But let the FBI attempt a coup, commit perjury, nothing. Let Wasserman Schultz and Pelosi give Pakistani and Chinese spies complete access, crickets. Let police violate civil rights all over the country, nothing. Let governors pass special laws more restrictive of churches than other gatherings, nothing.
Just bagpiping...

These privileged Hollywood clowns make me sick and they need a lesson. They ought to get community service -there’s lots of things they can do.

Then maybe they’ll see how SOME people struggle getting THEIR kids into school.

They could work on a campus, in the union... dishing lunches to kids, some of whom can barely afford it. We had a grad student who was living in his car.

If instead of bribing an official directly, if they had just made a gift to the schools endowment, I wonder if they could have accomplished the same thing, but legally.

If the dean decided to let the person in, but didn’t personally receive compensation would that be legal?

“Do the college officials that accepted the bribes get any time?”

Careful, your critical thinking skills are showing.

With a major conviction like this I guess the prosecutor is headed to the next Trump impeachment investigation.

40 years. Hell, even in the USSR the max you could get was 10 years. You might not survive a “tenner”, but that was all they could sentence you. In the old west people got 2 or 3 years in prison for robbery. The Sundance kid is an example. In 1887, he stole a gun, horse, and saddle from a ranch in Sundance, Wyoming. He was captured and sentenced to 18 months in jail.

A threat of 40 years for lying to get your kid in college is the mark of a police state.

Say it ain’t so, Aunt Becky. She’s crazy to take a deal that involves any real prison time. Hopefully for her this is “home detention.”

She gets 2 months. Her husband gets 5 months for the same offense. Why do women always get a lesser sentence than theman in the same offense?

There was a bit more to it then just a straight donation. The guy at the center pleaded guilty and gave up those who used him as intermediary. In this case, taking pictures of their kid allegedly crewing a boat just put icing on the cake. On the other hand, in my view, this was a low level matter and should never have used the full weight of the government to bring these clowns down. Equally galling, is some pleaded guilty a lot earlier and got harsher sentencing. Meanwhile, Comey et al are free as a bird guilty as sin.

Bribe a college and you get a professor's chair, a building or even a stadium named after you (along with admission for your kid). Cut out the middle man and bribe the college employees directly and you go to jail.

Lesson: Never cut out the middle man, especially if they have the power to imprison you.

They should pardon her. 2 months is too much for this. They are letting dangerous criminals out these days.

I agree. The guy who stabbed the 80 year old woman to death in Houston had been arrested 68 times and was free when he should have been locked up in a prison or asylum. I can't get very outraged over this college BS.

they're just the B list...maybe C list...to be paraded in front of we serfs to make us feel like JUSTICE HAS BEEN DONE....

we should know full well that getting your kid into an expensive and supposedly prestigious college has not always been based on grades....more like money and who knows who wink wink...

Correction, there is NO justice. There is just-us, meaning we get punished and they are above the law. Civil suits?

Our leftist commie Justice Dept. must have decided they failed to donate a similar amount to the DNC, or declined to make statements regarding a Trump.

Ask Nancy why so steep a sentence for both, her, DiFi or Hillary!

They could have solved their entrance criteria problem simply by checking the “Black” box instead of “White”. Then the scores wouldn’t have mattered.

I don’t understand prosecuting these famous people. Rich people have been using their wealth to get their kids promoted for a long time.

If they had “donated” $500,000 to the school directly for the Lori and Mo Bathroom in the Three Stooges Museum, they would have gotten their kids into school and their names memorialized on a plaque.

I agree. I heard that the Golden State Killer was within minutes of being set free.

Everything is upside down.
