If you’ve watched the news lately, you might be under the impression that a medicine President Trump touted as a possible game changer against coronavirus — has been debunked and discredited. Two divergent views of the drug, hydroxychloroquine, have emerged: the negative one widely reported in the press and another side you’ve probably heard less about. Never has a discussion about choices of medicine been so laced with political overtones. Today, how politics, money and medicine intersect with coronavirus.
I wonder how much money Cavuto has invested in Gilead.
1) Trump takeshydroxychloroquine . He’s being reckless and he’s bad.
2) Trump doesn’t take hydroxychloroquine . He’s recommending a dangerous drug that he won’t take himself. He’s bad for that.

An important distinction is being sloughed over, in the frenzy to sling as much BS as possible.
The distinction is: PREVENTATIVE vs THERAPEUTIC.
It is PERFECTLY POSSIBLE that HCQ is effective, even MASSIVELY effective, when taken as a PREVENTATIVE. I don’t know. I have no opinion nor knowledge on the matter. I’m only bringing it up as a possibility, but an important one.
It is also possible that HCQ is grossly INEFFECTIVE as a THERAPY. Again, I don’t know. I have no opinion nor knowledge on the matter. But it’s not at all a preposterous possibility.
Pretty simple, really.
Death by CV-19 is generally (AFAIK) from cytokine storm. The body’s own reaction to CV-19 in fatal cases is a reaction that ends up flooding the lungs with fluid; a pneumonia. It’s entirely possible that once such an internal reaction is underway, what may have worked well as a preventative medicine has little or no effect. Somewhere on the up-curve of the cytokine response, HCQ may very well lose its effectiveness.
The multiple races underway to develop A VACCINE, eg; a therapy, a CURE against an already-established case of CV-19 have entirely different challenges as functioning medicines. Far more difficult, in my entirely ignorant opinion. That research is vitally important, also in my opinion. But the NEED for such a vaccine could be 100% percent reduced if indeed a preventative medicine were to become known.

Freedom involves choices and consequences . Do what you want. Some people are extremely risk adverse. Some take high risk readily . In a free society do what you want. Some who are fearful want to impose their fear on others. Screw them. Rather than take away others’ freedom...stay in your closet.
