WASHINGTON - Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., on Thursday temporarily stepped aside as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee after the FBI seized his cellphone and questioned Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., as part of a possible insider trading investigation.
Burr faced pressure to step aside as head of the powerful committee after the FBI seized his cellphone as part of a search warrant, senior law enforcement official confirmed to NBC News.
"The work the Intelligence Committee and its members do is too important to risk hindering in any way," the North Carolina Republican said in a statement. "I believe this step is necessary to allow the Committee to continue its essential work free of external distractions."

Feinstein also answered questions from the FBI about stock trades that her husband made and she provided documents to the FBI, her spokesman said Thursday.

A Feinstein spokesman in March said that the senator did not sell any stock and that "the transactions you're referencing were made by her spouse."
The spokesman said all of Feinstein's assets are in a blind trust, and it's been that way since she came to the Senate in 1992.

The US has entered into a contract with a real estate firm to sell 56 buildings that currently house U.S. Post Offices. All 56 were built, operated, and paid for by tax-paying American citizens. Now enjoy reading the rest: The government has decided it no longer needs these buildings, most of which are located on prime land in towns and cities across the country.
The sale of these properties will fetch about$19 billion!
A regular real estate commission will be paid to the company that was given the exclusive listing for handling the sales. That company is CRI and it belongs to a man named Richard Blum.
Richard Blum is the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein!(Most voters and many of the government people who approved the deal have not made the connection between the two because they have different last names).
Senator Feinstein and her husband stand to make a fortune, estimated at between $950 million and $1.1 BILLION from these transactions!
His company is the sole real estate agent on the sale!
CRI will be making a minimum of 2% and as much as 6% commission on each and every sale. All of the properties that are being sold are all fully paid for. They were purchased with U.S. taxpayers dollars.
The U.S.P.S. is allowed free and clear, tax exempt use. The only cost to keep them open is the cost to actually keep the doors open and the heat and lights on. The United States Postal Service doesn’t even have to pay county property taxes on these subject properties. QUESTION? Would you put your house in foreclosure just because you couldn’t afford to pay the electric bill?
Well, the folks in Washington have given the Post Office the OK to do it! Worse yet, most of the net proceeds of the sales will go back to the U.S.P.S, an organization that is so poorly managed that they have lost $117 billion dollars in the past 10 years!
No one in the mainstream media is even raising an eyebrow over the conflict of interest and on the possibility of corruption on the sale of billions of dollars worth of public assets.
How does a U.S. Senator from San Francisco manage to get away with organizing and lobbying such a sweet deal ? Has our government become so elitist that they have no fear of oversight?
It’s no mere coincidence that these two public service crooks have different last names; a feeble attempt at avoiding transparency in these type of transactions.

If this doesn’t upset you, don’t complain about the corruption and the ineptness in D.C.
6 .....SIX People to write this??? LOL!!!!
The Fox guy in DC — Chad Pergram, I think — said something like Feinstein won’t be pursued. It must be nice.
I am not to young to know about or too old to have forgotten what Jack Abramoff meant to the RINOs in Congress. Now we have 3 RINO’s hanging on the hook of corruption again. I don’t know how North Carolina replaces mid term US Senators that resign from office, but if hiding behind a beard doesn’t make Senator Burr feel comfortable enough to weather out this storm, Governor Roy Cooper(D), could be picking his replacement.
Anyone that covetous and greedy at that age, lacks a soul and I mean that literally.
They should all resign! Or retire! Let them spend a few years, like General Flynn, in court, being driven to near-bankruptcy.
Did this piece really need six authors?
Wheres DiFis phone? Why wasnt it seized?
What reason did Chad give, for Freakingstein getting away w/this??
(Other than the obvious reason ... being a Dem.)
“What reason did Chad give, for Freakingstein getting away w/this??”
No reason; he was just making a statement. He didn’t say it in an accusatory or snarky manner. But after he had spent most of the segment re GOP Burr (true — he’s an asshole) and how he’s being treated, then how DiFi wasn’t getting the same treatment, the juxtaposition — to me — made a big statement.
Thanks....we know the reason.
Whatever happened to Kelly Loeffler and her amazing, pre-Wuhan shut down stock purchase?
I know, I know....her hubby is the head of NYSE, so no problem for her :(
I want in on this two tiered system.....on the OTHER side. :- /
“Whatever happened to Kelly Loeffler”
Her name was mentioned in the segment, and they showed her picture, but I don’t recall hearing one word about the outcome of her issue.
Need to burn the bastard and the rest of them who did this.
Some pigs are better than all the rest. Some are just stinking filthy pigs.
