Hmm. You didn’t answer my question. Can/ought cops shoot every who flees from them?
Of course, lethal self defense is based on a real, articulable and in fact threat or active application of lethal force/grave bodily harm. No court or person ought to see it otherwise.
I fully agree that a person, cop or otherwise has a natural and legal right to defend themselves against a lethal force attack, but in every other case, due process is required. Else we are in a state of nature and no disinterested party can be the finder of fact.
As to this case specifically, IF the facts and evidence show that the officers are justified, then they are. If not, then the law applies to them as well. Defense of justification is always required in the case of a homicide.
Such a law would be instantly misused against gun owners and conservative protestors.
It's a shame the kid picked a nice spring day to suicide-by-cop, but it was his choice.
but there was a white woman, pregnant, killed as well by a cop are hitting her....she died as well....shhhhh....don't tell anyone...
So if you take off running you may be shot ?
Q: Who runs from the police?
A: Criminals.
So, shoot criminals?
