In that video you can hear the taser deploying and then the high-pitched recycling noise, followed immediately by some nearby shots, and then shots from one or more distant weapons. It sounds exactly like the way the police have reported it.

TG, I think you’re missing something here. It’s not like GuavaCheesePuff deliberately deleted something from the TMZ article, then posted it. There simply was no mention of the man having a gun in that article.
If you want to get mad at anyone, get mad at TMZ for poor reporting.
By the way, I don’t blame Guava or anyone else for posting a TMZ article without first doing more research. TMZ is a goofy celebrity gossip site. But they often do excellent, real reporting. I’d trust them over, say, NBC or CBS.

That law is in the books in Washington State. However, while the law is still on the books, I’ve read where the Supreme Court years ago ruled that one can not shoot a fleeing felon. Although that may just be a cop can’t shoot. In Washington State it is spelled out that a “citizen” has more leeway than a cop in a shooting.

i think discretion can be reasonably applied, and the danger the fleeing person is causing.
true but swearing at a cop isn’t a death penalty offense.
i had heard from previous stories he had a gun.

IMPD says a loaded gun matching photos Reed had posted on social media was found on the scene. IMPD says ballistic evidence points to both parties firing shots. The Marion County Forensic Services Agency will test evidence from the scene.
They say casings from two guns were located on the scene.
