The draft is kind of sad. If you look at the first round draft from 10 years ago you had new fresh faces, exciting stories, and fame but how many of these players are out of the league, bankrupt, and/or with a physical condition that they will have to live with the rest of their lives. It is like a conveyor belt where they start with high hopes and dreams but not many have successful outcomes 10 years later. It just rolls forward every year with a new crop of young, naïve faces.
Many of the college players have dreams of making it to the NFL but few do. A few years ago I met a 50 year old executive who had just had a knee replacement. I asked why he needed one and he said a high school football injury. He confessed he wished he had never played football.
Another guy I met was in his late 30’s. He played football for a small prestigious college school but was hobbling really bad with problems in both knees. I asked him if it was worth it and he said yes because it helped him get into law school and obtain a really good job. I can’t imagine what his physical condition will be at age 50.
I get the entertainment value and excitement out of the draft but sometimes I wonder if it is like watching people sign up to participate in battles at the Collusium or people signing up to have tattoos on television.
Is it better not to watch?
Darnold will be a top quarterback, they just need to provide him some protection and some good receivers to work with.
What time does the draft start?
Maybe..but i’ve got too many bad habits to be around by the time they get it all together.
I feel your pain. I spent almost 20 years suffering with the Colts before Manning and the glory days. The longer you wait the sweeter it tastes when you finally get there. If you get there.
LOL! It gets old when you’re going through a twentieth consecutive rebuilding season.
He scored a 13 on the Wonderlic...one of the lowest all-time, but probably average for the typical Bammer graduate.
Tonight 8 pm Eastern Time. Round 2 tomorrow Friday at 7 pm ET.
Yeah it does :)
Ryan’s team was my last hope but that QB Sucked

I’m hoping my Nittany Lions do well! especially KJ Hamler and John Reid
I am probably in the minority, but the NFL is dead to me.
Is it true that Jets front office and coaches consider it a successful draft if they don’t get death threats before the season starts?
1- Derek Brown is a 326 pound man
2- his ten yard split of 1.73s was bettered by just 3 DTs expected to be top 75 selections
3- Other 320+ plus DT’s who will be top 90 picks (Fotu-Utah, Hamilton - Ohio State), had ten yard splits of 1.80
4- only 4 DT’s bettered Brown’s vertical jump of 27 inches
5- Brown’s bench press mark (29 reps) was bettered by just 4 DT’s
that article is nothing more than someone fishing for something to write...
How difficult could it be for a team domo in Cincinnati (or anywhere else?) to grab a cell phone and call the commish with his pick? Or have amateur radio operators send it via Morse code?
NFL PING!!
I hope we at least get half of the baseball season. Don’t see why not.
Note to the NFL: you are about escapism. Stop lecturing us about being strong and how virtuous you are. It’s a bummer and I tuned in for something to get my mind OFF this stuff. We all know, we already know about it. Shut up and draft!
