Our government has allowed everything else to be outsourced to China so it's not that surprising that they also outsourced research that, in the future, could be used to kill or incapacitate us. Of course, this being the Daily Mail, the article isn't being framed as research that's dangerous to humanity. Instead the focus is on cruelty to animals.

Why are we giving money to China for them to research viruses tied to the weird animals their population eats and thus viruses likely to hit them first?

Why aren’t we keeping this money in the U.S. so American researchers can research ways to mitigate the impact of Chinese viruses that hit our mainland?
