Dr. Anthony Fauci joins "CBS This Morning" after he and other medical experts credited Americans as well as the mitigation efforts of state and local governments for what they say are signs that the coronavirus' spread is slowing. However, he warned that the next few weeks will be critical and that models may continue to display a downward trend if Americans "redouble our efforts" at social distancing and other precautions.
However, he insists that it is the effect of social distancing that resulted in the death toll from this disease dropping from millions, to hundreds of thousands, now to sixty thousand.
But his certainty is based on what? Fauci, where is your beloved proof that this is what is causing this result?
Fauci told us *with social distancing* the death toll would be 100-150 thousand of so. So, he put social distancing into effect, and now the number is down to 60,000 or so - therefore he really didn't predict the result of social distancing properly... because he doesn't really understand the effects!
Without his empirical "proof" how can he be so sure social distancing is having much of an effect?
His reasoning on this - "See! We shut society down - and we can the the effect of the disease dropped even greater than we predicted!" is circular reasoning! By his own standards, his correlation is miles away from proving causation.
IOW: “Keep it tanking, America! Another few weeks of redoubled effort will see it hit rock bottom!”
I have seen no proven, double blind, peer reviewed and results duplicated study that proves if your shot in the face from 2 feet away by a 44 magnum is fatal.
Now there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence that says that’s true, but I don’t think it’s ever been proven in a scientific study.
That’s probably because nobody is stupid enough to waste time and money on something so blatantly obvious.
Clinical trials ad nauseam for hydroxychloroquine, while is known to be effective against coronavirus, esp when supplemented with zinc. “Unproven”.
But the vaccine? Rush to market and make it mandatory.
The models were projected WITH mitigation in place so how can this asshat now say it was due to the mitigation Fauci is nothing more than a deep state bureaucrat and his models were nothing more than BS to destroy the economy he is very proud of himself right now!!

I watched the clip. Where did he say the words “testing”, “clinical trials”, “proof” or “peer reviewed” in this clip at all? This is a six minute interview, not a hour long seminar for doctors.
I would like to have proof that his 30+ years of experience have actually produced any meaningful results.
They are concepts he uses repeatedly. Oddly, except for his insistance that social distancing is the cause for the models being so far off.
It’ll be interesting to hear what people remember about the Covid-19 season a few years from now.
Will Fauci and Birx be lauded as heroic epidemiologists who saved millions of lives? Or will they be remembered as Dr. Doom and The Scarf who completely wrecked the most bullish economy the US ever knew?

White House task force projects 100,000 to 240,000 deaths in U.S., even with mitigation efforts
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
If he used the same standard for “mitigation” that he uses for approving the hydroxychloraquine therapy for Covid-19, he would require that it be tested in 1,000 or more cities over 20-30 or more epidemics.
And since it would have to be a double blind study, a significant number of cities would have to intentionally use a placebo — i.e., a “mitigation” technique that they believe to be ineffective, but that those implementing it and those overseeing it would believe to be the actual “mitigation” technique that they were testing. So he’d know if their proposed “mitigation” techniques were effective 50-100 years from now.
The fact that he and the rest of the fraud known as the CDC require that kind of approach for hydroxychloraquine, etc. and not for their “mitigation” techniques lays bare the truth that they are just using that excuse not to make a super cheap, proven safe option available to the public and instead leave the way open for a new, very expensive drug.

CNN reports that Fauci has proof of how the shut down has saved millions of lives. Unfortunately he can’t get to it right now because it’s all the way at the bottom of his front pocket, below his keys. But I trust CNN. /S
It’s an excellent point. It is merely anecdotal evidence to say social distancing prevented so many deaths. It makes logical sense on one level, we always knew to stay away from people with the flu. But there is no randomized controlled study proving it.
But it also makes no sense. Because all the people who have been in lock-down developed no immunity to the virus. So if the virus is ‘seasonal’ like he says, it means every season millions of people will be put at risk. Are we supposed to do a 60 day lock-down twice a year?
And why ignore all the data on HQC? It seems to work well if not as prophylactic (which some evidence that it does!) the data is strong that it helps shut the virus down. And if so, giving it to people who show symptoms right away will allow them to build an immune response and we develop a herd immunity to the disease.
What they have proposed is only superficially logical. They need to quintuple the efforts to study HQC as prophylactic, and as a means to prevent disease progression that will give the body time to develop the antibodies. And if that works, that is your “vaccine” that you will never develop and prove to be as safe and effective in 18 months time. No way to do the randomized controlled safety and efficacy studies in 18 months, even if they had a promising vaccine developed today.
Models scare the shit out of him. reality, not so much.
Remember, govt experts are worth about a cup of warm spit sometimes.
