My mother used to cut our hair with regular shears when we were kids. My two sisters and I (I’m a girl), always had a Dutch Boy haircut.

ugh. me too. to this day I can’t stand Dutch boy hair cuts on girls.
the secret to properly cutting bangs is to cut up not across. feather/fringe instead of a blunt cut. Been cutting my own hair for decades...stb 60.
