So how many dead Americans or collapsed local health systems are you willing to accept so that the Chamber of Commerce is happy and POTUS cat get himself re-elected?

If we don’t stop this - or at least slow it, we could be facing 2M+ dead in the US. And that’s very optimistic, as most credible experts are projecting 60-70% infection rate if we don’t keep things shut down. And with a super conservative and very optimistic death rate of “only” 1%, that’s roughly 2.2M dead Americans. The actual number is likely much, much higher.
Are 2+ million dead and tens of millions hospitalized (many in the ICUs with not enough ventilators where many will die due to lack of available machines) “acceptable” to you to open the economy back up?

The American economy IS WHAT KEEPS AMERICANS ALIVE! I know so many people who have lost their jobs because of this. They are despondent as hell.

POTUS has gone rogue and is apparently gonna ignore the experts like Fauci. Not that I’m a big fan of Fauci, but he arguably knows a heck of a lot more about infections diseases than DJT.

His messaging was better today than yesterday. Still I think it would reach more people in a positive way if he added the angles of 1) We’ve got these very promising treatments that my admin has approved off label, contributing to some of the projections coming down, and 2) We’re handling the logistics of getting the tests, PPE, ventilators and hospital beds to those hot spots especially where states need more help and supplies for us to do what we can. 3) We’re learning more about the precautions we can and should take to get people safely back to work when and as we can, which we believe will be soon—as long as we can sustain the social distancing and other precautions as we move into getting back to our regular life.
Nuisance will keep California on lockdown for months regardless of what Trump says. Same with Cuomo and the other blue state governors. I’d like to start working, going to the gym, and generally leading a normal life again. But I’m willing to do what it takes to keep the elderly at-risk population, which includes my dad, safe. The American economy has recovered from worse than this. But you can’t bring the dead back to life so I’m going to err on the side of safety.

It is being calculated. It’s a thing. They’ll find a pretty good number.
Your question swings both ways. Should we shut the economy down to save one life? What’s “your number”? Rhetorical question. Life is uncertain, risks are inevitable, mother nature is harsh and so is your fellow man.

I am not convinced WHATSOEVER that a down economy “costs lives”.
This is not 1929. People are not jumping off of bridges because they are out of work a few weeks or months.
Plus, the idiots in Congress seem intent on paying people’s salaries for the duration. I saw Schumer today saying the Federal Government will “pay people’s salaries for up to 4 months”.
That’s staggering, but beside the point.
If you get a 4 month, government sponsored and paid for vacation, what’s the issue? Keep people safe. Find something else to entertain yourself for 4 months - or whatever the timeframe is.
People are not going to be jumping off buildings if they are off work for X months AND getting paid to lounge around.
You might want to check your facts. Not only is that “remotely true”, it is TOTALLY true.
There are literally dozens of projections (including the CDC) projecting up to 70% infection. I’ve posted about these many, many times.
I’m not going to continue to point you guys to the links I’ve provided so many times previously. Do your own research. But please don’t come here and say “that’s just not true” without ACTUAL RESEARCH from credible sources and not just your own opinion, K?
