Moments after Donald Trump approached the lectern to open the daily taskforce briefing on the coronavirus pandemic, mild panic broke among viewers online.
Where was Dr Anthony Fauci, the 79-year-old infectious disease expert who has become a regular fixture and a calming presence alongside the president?

Has he retired? He's 79 and has been with his agency - I think in the same position? - for 40 years. Isn't it time for new blood?
Also, given his negative comments on the malaria drug, openly contradicting Trump in front of America, I trust he won't accept the drug if he comes down with coronavirus, because, even though it's approved drug, it hasn't gone through a years-long maze of FDA tests for coronavis use.

He's busy writing more love letters to Hillary.
Maybe he's watching old videos of himself telling everyone not to panic about the H1N1 flu outbreak in 2009-10 where 61 million Americans were infected and 13,000 died. His advice back then was wash your hands, eat well and get plenty of rest. Just like today.
