The US can make it through this. Yes, things will be different. There are big concerns, health care system, economy, etc. But it's one step at a time.

says experts project the coronavirus outbreak in NY will peak in about 45 days. As many as 55,000-110,000 hospital beds and 18,600-37,200 ICU beds will be needed. There are currently 53,000 hospital beds in the state and 3,000 ICU beds.

True, for now. But Biden won't be the nominee. He is obviously an unable man. The nominee will be decided at the Convention by the Party Phoobahs.

Gov. Cuomo is positioning himself as nominee. He is giving all day press conferences and making lots of noise as a "leader" to position himself as the one Democrats can rally around to beat Trump.

I think Cuomo’s numbers tie together pretty well.

While that will be the peak, it will be a slow slide down the curve, probably several months imho before their health care system approaches “normality”.

My local primary care office is refusing new patients. Refusing appointments that are non acute.

I have to get a prescription renewed so Dr got me on the schedule.

They are screening people at the door with questions and wont let you in if you meet two criteria.

I will be wearing an n95 mask and gloves. Going to get in and out as fast as possible

I am considering just going to one of those Minute clinics but not sure the exposure would be any less

I feel for people on the front line. A lot will get this

Culturally, we are probably the country in the world least able to get a handle on this. There’s NOTHING an American hates more than somebody telling them what to do.

I’m 80 miles from SF right now. Freeways are packed. Freight is moving. If anything, things are a little busier now.

Sure, a lock down order would slow things temporarily, but soon nearly everyone will ignore it.

That makes sense.

If he can get through this without complete disaster (by no means guaranteed, btw) he will have a proven track record.

If Bernie does not give Biden his delegates, it would be possible for the DNC to stop Biden at the last minute.

Biden will still be babbling about "holding meetings"

I’m at home. I’m taking off work and so is my wife. The kids are home from school. We are self isolating. As long as the water keeps coming out of the tap (it don’t even need to gush, just a trickle will do) we could stay here without leaving for a year.

My wife is going to stay off work for months. We know that. She has breathing problems already.

I’m trying to figure out how long I am going to stay home. That’s one reason I am on FR. I don’t like staying home. I like to work. When I go back to work, I’ll be away from home from 2 to 4 weeks. Trying to figure that out, too, along with the rest of the logistics, potentialities, and the process for returning home without bringing a bug back with me.

There is a reason why they talked about the dangers of bathrooms and HVAC systems needing turned off.

I know we don’t trust the government of China, but the doctors were revealing important clues through the papers/studies submitted online.

I think the CCP got wind of that and stopped it.
