Yeah Vancouver (and Seattle) are Communist Chinese cesspools.
“Passenger aboard Air Canada flight to Vancouver from Montreal tests positive for COVID-19”
As will all the rest of the passengers on that metal tube.
Woah! Starship Troopers reference. I loved that thirty second bomb.
We are strating to get the trickle in Covid-198 crowd.
Last friday is was an Iranian flying into Montreal who tested positive. Iran likely has a huge Covid19 epidemic but are not reporting it.Likewise we have people arriving from China continuously who show no signs but who are carriers of the Covid-19 virus.
Canada may have to ban flight arrivals from China and Iran.
“Last of your preps should be finishing now. You’ve got just 4-7 days left, IMHO.”
Agree. Actually, I thought we’d be seeing it starting last week. There are some good anecdotes at Zero Hedge. In one case a guy who services a tire center said that the tire center is well-stocked, upstairs, but in the basement, where they keep their reserve stock - just about empty (tires need steel from China). Others can’t get car stereos. About all that I’ve seen are emptying shelves for children’s clothing at Walmart. It looks like that will go first.
I’ll start watching selves more closely next week. It’s going to be fun documenting the shortages, and then the inevitable panic buying!
Me too. I wonder if they found enough doors and windows...
“Yeah Vancouver (and Seattle) are Communist Chinese cesspools.”
I’m not worried about them...it’e the filthy white liberals.
“Im hoping I lose enough weight that I dont need em...”
Come to think of it, as the shortages move into the food supply, perhaps we won’t need as much meds for blood pressure and diabetes, and possibly many other conditions.
Canada may have to ban flight arrivals from China and Iran.
And France ought to keep Germans from entering the country through Belgium.
By the time the people who ought to have figured it out do figure it out, it will be too late. Right now the question is only how much too late.
“I have a bunch of flights in March, including a personal vacation scheduled for Europe late in the months. Well see how things go...”
I blew off a vacation to Asia this month, that included a cruise, although not THAT CRUISE (thank God). Lost a bit of dough, but not the end of the world. Next trip was going to be to Italy...nope, not booking that. One day car trips are my limit until things get back to ‘normal’, if they do.
Christian alive now will not be witnessing a ‘post apocalyptic world’. we be outta heuh befo dat comes down.
“Basically all we need to ride out a food shortage and/or public shutdown.”
Nice job. Sounds like you’re ready. I have a similar amount. But keep a couple of things in mind:
1) Electricity will be around for a long time, as it is still available throughout China.
2) There will be ‘some’ food, so your 4 month supply may last significantly longer. You’ll just be eating what you want, in whatever quantity you want.
I think you meant that in the kindest of ways.
It can be taken in others. I’ve read One Second After twice, several years apart. The second time had a bigger impact in some ways, because my youngest daughter had been diagnosed with Type I diabetes in-between.
“Fortunately” I think that insulin is still produced in North America, and that this is likely to be a lot kinder than an EMP.
But I tend to be an optimist.
I’m glad I quit my bp meds a year ago. Before I did that I cut out my carbs and sugar. It worked great, but might need to worry if I have to start eating mostly rice.
Agreed. I do know that the Government of Canada is spooked by this Corona virus. Really, really spooked.
On a per-capita basis, the connection between China and Canada is stronger than that of the U.S.—big enough china towns in the most major cities, and Ottawa has one too, not that far from where I’ll be Tuesday, and maybe a 15 minute walk from Parliament. Word on the street has a way of carrying weight.
Good luck! I tend to only think about Type 2. Hope it works out, I know insulin is absolutely critical for Type 1.

I think if you keep the calories down, you’ll be ok, even on carbs...but it will take a lot of effort, and definitely not something that can be done for the long-term, hence the popularity of Keto.
I had a medical test at a Sloan Kettering branch in NJ on Friday. When I checked in, in addition to the usual questions, the girl asked me if I had traveled recently. When I gave her a blank look, she asked, "Have you been to China?"
Later I asked her, if someone answered, "Yes," if they would immediately evacuate the waiting room.
