Yep Tom Landry was a great one.
Remember though, Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry on the same day he bought the Cowboys. I hear what you are saying, but Jerry Jones disposed of the real Tom Landry when he had him.

If Jerry had kept Tom Landry long enough so Landry could have retired and perhaps be on the corporate board / brain trust, things may have been better. Seems as if Jerry wants him some gloryhole.

Well one who was grateful to be able to watch Tom Landry work at making the Dallas Cowboys Americas (football) team all through the years that he coached and led that that once great team I have to say that Tom Landry was a far superior coach for/to the team than Jones was or has ever been or likely will ever be for the Cowboys as its owner. Jones can never measure up to Landry stature IMHO. I always thought that Jones was jealous of Tom Landry and his many years of successes before Jones came along.
Glad he was smart enough not to take the Giant job.
