I haven’t seen any of these movies, but why does he say Burt Reynolds’s career was dying in 1969, when it hadn’t even gotten properly started yet? Does the author mix him up with someone else?
Did Burt Reynolds act in any westerns?
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. While I don't like Matt Damon's politics, he is a pretty damn good actor; Christian Bale likewise.
“I watched John Wayne’s the Green Berets again. Shouldn’t that count for something?”
I watched the first half of Green Berets on our base in Qui Nhon, Vietnam. The VC interrupted the film with mortars and small arms fire. I had to wait until I was back in the States to see the whole film.
I'd prefer something a bit more Sabaton like (Ghost Division); but that's just me. :-)
The Battle Of Midway 1942: Told Fom The Japanese Perspective
Hard for me to stomach Nick Nolte after his Brando-esque Little Flower moment against Elia Kazan at the Oscars...twenty years ago, I grant you.
Nonetheless he and Ed Harris--another reeking pile of principle, that guy--denouncing the 90-year-old Kazan made me want to puke.
Shut up and act, as they say---which you say Nolte is doing---which is a good thing, sure 'nuff.
The only tie-in to Burt Reynolds, was that he and Needham were the most well-known actor/stunt man pair in Hollywood.
Ironically, Burt was supposed to be in the movie, but he passed away, (Bruce Dern played the role instead)
Three years on “Gunsmoke.”
Burt was a regular on “Gunsmoke” in the early 60s, IIRC.
Geez, now I wish I hadn’t read that article. Too many spoilers. That one should definitely have been posted with (Spoiler Alert) warning.
Of course, I already knew about Jewell. And I’ve very much liked every Eastwood-directed movie I’ve seen. Oddly, I found the spaghetti westerns and Dirty Harry movies boring. I think I finished only one Dirty Harry movie, only because I took the little woman on a date and paid for movie theater seats.
I’d like to see the Tarantino movie and Ford vs. Ferrari. Maybe when I can get them on demand for $3.99 each.
It came out on Christmas day
Die Hard is #1 every year.
The Bourne Identity is a close second and The Outlaw Josie Wales and Run Silent Run Deep get honorable mention.
I agree... 100%.
I applauded in the theater when DiCaprio sank to the bottom of the Atlantic in Titanic (embarrassed the hell out of my wife!!)
But he was really good here...
And he was also good in “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
I rented the Taratino movie this weekend on Amazon Prime.
$3.99 HD rental.
I liked it. And except 2 or 3 scenes, it was light on the violence for a Taratino movie.
Escape from Alcatraz is my favorite Eastwood movie.
Did you watch the closing credits? Hillarious.
