There is no such thing as an “impeachment trial.” The impeachment of Trump has happened-—today. The trial is the trial.
Personally, I think his concern that it’s a black mark on him is unfortunate. I think it’s not going to hurt how history treats him at all. After all, barring some actual reason to remove him from office, he’s going to look rather good after he’s acquitted, certainly better by a light year than Slick Willie.
You have the salient truly political points in regards to the process. The “human” side of the reality of the accusation and whether there is any merit to the accusations— made without a shred of evidence. Lack of evidence painfully known to the bug eyed paedo freak from WeHo who “managed” this disaster, from a completely inappropriate “committee” for the bringing of impeachment inquiry.
Because also they knew that fat boy the nebbish, roly poly nadless was not capable of much beside a banging gavel and a nasal nyawk squawk brooklynese admonishments. So this is what they got, and it is certainly woefully short of anything of substance, no matter what the media tries to make of it.

You can say someone was arrested but it’s nothing without conviction. An arrest record without conviction is less than vapor.
You could be arrested a thousand times, but without conviction it is vacuous.
A mythical myopic law enforcement officer might say I’m arresting you for being arrested dozens of times, in fact the total number of charges in all those arrests number more than a hundred, therefore I’m arresting you for having been arrested multiple times.
Nonsense.
Without conviction, the arrest is nothing.
What do call a person who tells the truth 999 times?
You call them a 999 truth teller.
What do you call a person that tells the truth 999 times and then tells a lie on the 1000th time?
You call then a liar.
The nonsense continues that the arrested will be memorialized as having been arrested.
And that’s what the leftist loons will drink to, that Trump is an arrested President.

My view is no to dismissal. Draw them all out even if it risks successful impeachment of the President because millions will prepare to burn it to the ground and then the Swamp will truly be drained. As one can see, I am for revolution, not interested in a continuation of business as usual.
That said, Trump will win and make history, positive history. He most likely will have a profile chiseled and smoothed on a mountain of granite.
This thread should be pulled. Way off track. Trump is indeed impeached. A conviction via the Articles of Impeachment in the Senate would cause removal from office. Nixon was never impeached. History is a stubborn thing....wow.....

Disagree. I served in a GS-14 position which is fairly high up, coming in from the outside.
In my interviews, I happily answered I had been arrested but never convicted. I was told arrests without conviction are of no consequence unless I would try to HIDE it.
I was told my demonstrated ability to be truthful was of much higher value.
You must always be truthful to your team. You may be empowered to deceive your enemies. Just make sure your enemies are God’s enemies.
Arrest without conviction is equivalent to a false accusation. We are innocent until proven guilty.
