This particular winner? In the one photo she looks pretty good. In another though, I could see how in the right clothing and without makeup she could be mistaken for a guy. She's one of those ladies that really needs the right makeup, hair style, and clothing. You'd be surprised how many "celebrities" actually don't even look as good as the girl next door "naturally." Other women have a natural beauty the comes through without even trying, and without all the professional help of stylists and designers.
She isn’t the first African woman to win Miss Universe. Botswana and Angola (both black) won in the past. I don’t know about Africa, but in the West there are many, many black actors. singers, entertainers, models and beauty queens who are admired for their beauty and style. Her statement seems very archaic.
Women tell me that being beautiful is a curse.
So no matter what they will complain.
“Was told I was not beautiful,...”
“People only tell me that I look good...”
“Strangers look at me and ask me things...”
She’s attractive in a Nairobi/Somali/exotic kind of way.
Unfortunately all her beauty was tossed the second she invoked the race card.
Now she’s just another skinny.
We tuned in near the end while flipping channels. I couldn’t get past Ms. SA’s haircut, just not as attractive as other women. Ms. Mexico should have been the winner of the top 3.
Beauty is skin deep.
He’s disgusting....and he’s a pig.
White is MIGHT
Madison Anderson......opinions?

Yowzza!!!!! We have a winner!!!!!!!!!!
Her statement might have made sense...in 1934.
Get used to it. It’s the latest trend and will be in vogue for years.
Yeah, it’s every year and almost every beauty contest. And every year they say the same thing, “At last little girls who look like me can have someone to look up to.” Are they kidding? Whites have hardly been allowed to win beauty contests for decades now, yet aren’t allowed in pageants such as “Miss Black America.”
“I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and my kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful.
“I think that it is time that that stops today.”
She’s all of 26. She won the crown. Wow, so wonderful that mean racist world suddenly changed the moment she walked on stage. Sure, like she somehow must have managed to become a contestant for Miss Universe without ever going through years of pageant training and winning to make it through the ropes up to the top. I think not.
That was my thought. With the boy hair cut, she reminded me of Grace Jones.
I think that “that stopped” long ago.
