We are in an ice age:

Not to me, I lived through most of that doom and gloom predictions, so I get the point, but scientifically speaking, even if the had NEVER been wrong before, they would still be just as wrong now.

Ha! I loved that series! The music in particular: all “spacey” and ominous! I was only 11 in 1978, but I do remember the snow storms in NJ in the winter of ‘77. Good times.

I can't argue with that. If they had been right back then about the planet plunging into deep cold conditions they certainly wouldn't be right now about the planet getting warmer.

Whoever authored that was pretty darn close - for 3 years! Being from up around the Great Lakes you are reminded of what an ice age can be all about. That’s why they are there.

Fall and Winter of 1976-1977 was BRUTAL! Thanksgiving day, usually mild was brutal cold, about 18 degrees, wind blowing with snow and ice. It remained like that for several days.

Winter of 1977, saw January so cold and with 30 days of constant cloud cover over the continental USA, sever snow storms through Feb and March, and me down with flu and pneumonia.

It was used as Proof we were entering a New Ice Age!

The propaganda was so strong we were afraid to buy a new truck as there might not be gas available. At work, we came up with all sorts of ideas to run an engine, from home made alcohol, to hydrogen-Oxygen from water, to producer gas(wood burning smoke in the engines).

One of the men I worked with actually pulled the engine on his truck and replaced it with a two cylinder Diesel fuel tractor engine. He got great mileage, but could not go over 20 miles an hour.

the SUN is the most critical thing affecting weather on the earth. in comparison anything we do is incredibly small compared to the sun.

Its lack of sunspot activity is affecting our weather negatively. History shows we go into cold periods when sunspot activity goes way down, like it is now.
